Sometimes the signs that someone is ready for a promotion are subtle. Other times, they’re impossible to ignore. That’s definitely the situation with Alex and Katie. Over the past month, we’ve had a steady stream of upper belts asking when we were planning on promoting them. We figured, no time like the present!

Alex and Katie embody the work ethic and determination that we so value at PBJJ. They arrive on the mats laser focused on what they need to do to get better each day, and they have an unwavering conviction that their focus will get them where they want to go. Last night, it got them to purple belt.

Please join us in congratulating Alex and Katie on their achievement! We know — and they know — this is another beautiful step on the road to black belt.

Coach Julia’s foundational principles will elevate anyone’s stand up game so we decided to open her clinics up to everyone. If you are planning to compete or want to improve your stand up, don’t miss out!
