Among our teen students, Seigo and Madison will both be starting college after this summer. Congratulations to both of them on being accepted to the universities they worked so hard to reach.
Today was also Seigo’s final class as a high school student before he begins his next chapter at McGill University.
Over the past 14 years of teaching in the United States, I have watched many students grow up and leave home to begin their college journeys. It is something that happens again and again, yet it is something I never truly get used to.
Watching a student grow is one of the most rewarding and emotional parts of being a teacher.
Young people in America have countless choices competing for their time and attention. Out of all those choices, Seigo chose Taekwondo. More importantly, he chose to trust me as his instructor and dedicate years of hard work toward his growth and development.
I am incredibly proud of the young man he has become—not only because of his achievements, but because of his character, perseverance, and willingness to challenge himself.
Congratulations, Seigo and Madison. We are excited to see where your next journey takes you, and you will always be part of the Taekwondo family.
