We had to share more photos from the tournament! 💚⛳️🏌️‍♀️While smoke was still heavy in the air, our hearts were with everyone who were being affected by the fires. The players had great games and enjoyed the time together to play while raising money for an important cause. All of you made a huge difference to help support the FailSafe for Life organization in making a difference!

The 3rd Annual Smelly Open is in the books! What a wonderful tournament we had on August 8th. It is with a big heartfelt thank you to everyone who showed up to play, those who stopped by to say hello, and those who supported at distance. We appreciate the FailSafe for Life team for being there with us to share the way they are working hard for su***de awareness and prevention. 💚 It is all of you who helped make this years tournament a big success!! Good morning! The 3rd Annual Smelly Open is just 5 days away. We are excited to see all of you who will be playing.

If you have not already paid your entry fee, please note the following:

If paying by card, please do so by stopping by or calling the Ranch Club no later than this Wednesday 08/05. They need time to convert those payments into funds for our event beneficiary - Failsafe for Life.
The pro-shop number is 208-946-8244 .

Event entry is $85 per person + $15 per person if renting a cart. Includes dinner catered by Thai Garden at The Ranch (you are in for a real treat!)

Registration starts at 11:00am Saturday 08/08 and we can accept cash or checks made payable to The Ranch Club that day (or any time this week).

Sh***un start at 1:00pm on Saturday. Prepare for lots of fun in the Summer Heat.

On July 12th 2024, we got the call that our friend Mark Schmelzer had taken his own life. We had planned on meeting him for golf that day and he never showed up.

In honor of his memory, we started the Smelly Open Golf Tournament. The first year’s proceeds went to the Schmelzer family to cover final expenses.

Last year the family selected 2 beneficiaries – Kellen Cares and Walk for H.O.P.E. We were able to donate $5000 to EACH of these great organizations.

This year’s beneficiary will be Failsafe for Life. We hope to continue supporting these programs that work to end the tragedy of su***de and offer support to those who have experienced a loss.

If you would like to offer your support – we have the following opportunities available:

Dinner Sponsor $250 and up Recognition on banner at event

Hole Sponsor $100 Sign on tee box or green at event

Long Putt / KP Sponsor $ 75 Sign at clubhouse at event

Raffle Donations
Prize baskets, gift certificates, donation of services, etc.

Team Prizes
4 each of the same item or gift certificate

The deadline for Dinner and Hole sponsors is July 30th. Raffle and team prizes by August 6th.

Donations can be dropped off at the Ranch Club Golf Course in Priest River or at Carpet One in Ponderay.
