As parents, we do everything we can to protect our children.

We buckle their car seats. We hold their hands in parking lots. We baby proof our homes.

But water is different.

Drowning is often silent, fast, and doesn’t look the way it’s portrayed in movies. That’s why giving children the skills to respond if they ever reach the water alone can make all the difference.

ISR lessons are about so much more than swimming. They’re about confidence, preparation, and providing your child with an additional layer of protection when every second matters.

One Spot Left!

I have just one lesson time remaining for this session.

Once this final spot is filled, enrollment for 2026 will be closed ‼️

ISR does not throw children into the pool. However, we do safely simulate realistic accidental water entry scenarios.

For example, you may be talking to another adult, helping another child, or simply have your back turned for a moment. During that brief distraction, a child may unexpectedly enter the water, assuming you’ll catch them. We prepare children with the skills they need to respond in those critical moments when an accident happens.

When it comes to submersions - EVERY. SECOND. COUNTS. The ability to respond immediately can make all the difference.

Puddle Jumpers are popular because they give children confidence in the water. Unfortunately, that confidence is often misplaced.

The biggest concern isn’t that they keep a child afloat. It’s how they keep a child afloat.

A Puddle Jumper holds a child in a nearly vertical position with their head above the water. While that seems helpful, it’s the exact opposite of the body position needed for independent swimming and self-rescue. Children can begin to associate water with remaining upright, rather than learning to roll onto their back, float, breathe, and move efficiently.

Another concern is that children who regularly wear flotation devices may begin to believe they are always capable of entering the water safely. They often don’t understand that the flotation device - not their own abilities - is what is keeping them afloat. If they enter the water without it, the outcome can be tragic.

Bring me your Puddle Jumper (or similar flotation device) and receive a discount on lessons!
