The group was fun for a while, then drama ruined it but that turned into a huge positive. I ended up buying a dual sport bike because I kept getting in trouble going places my cruiser wasn't mean to be. I spent several years exploring the southwest with one other person and it was amazing. Our trips typically involved a general direction and plans that weren't always followed. The randomness is wh
at make them so much fun. Our riding style was similar, very spirited. Neither of us could ride with slow pokes or constant racers, we found a middle ground. Rides included lots of stops, checking out anything that looked interesting, not caring much if we ended up having to double back or end up having to ride at night. We rode long days, even in rain, cold and miserable conditions, We'd complain but loved every mile and always came back with great pictures and amazing adventure stories. I would spend weeks looking for old mines, abandoned areas and other things that looked interesting enough to ride to or close enough to hike. We would end up at the top of mountains at times after hours and hours of hiking. We learned it wasn't worth constantly wrecking our bikes by taking overly complicated rides but would still find ourselves in sticky situations at times. Level heads, patience and no bickering always got us out of jams. We ended up parting ways thanks to politics. It's been a couple years now and I'd love to find another person or two to go on new adventures with. I've renamed this group to Rustic Route Rides where I'll post rides I'd like to go on again and see if anyone wants to join me. Simply Like the page and I think you'll be notified when I post something. I'm not sure if that will be this year or starting in 2024 but if you're looking for seriously cool rides, keep an eye open. Because there might be some off-road riding involved, it would be best if you have a dual sport bike.
