We were established on the foundations of providing exceptional instruction to climbers that are just learning the craft. r all to experience on our guided trips. All of our Instructors are well-qualified American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) certified in their specific terrain. Founded in the Spring of 2016, Granite Mountain Guides functions to equip the next generation of climbers through exceptional instruction. With a collective 20 years of technical climbing and instructional experience housed in the organization, we have found that an educational-based approach to guiding promotes individual growth, technical efficacy, and interpersonal awareness with our environment. Through these values, Granite Mountain Guides provides guided trips that promote the preservation of local wilderness areas. We are consistently curating client driven experiences within a safe, risk-managed environment.

Great news! The seasonal peregrine falcon nesting closures on Granite Mountain and Thumb Butte end on July 16, when these incredible climbing areas reopen.

Each spring, these temporary closures help protect peregrine falcons during one of the most important times of their life cycle. We’re grateful for the stewardship that helps ensure these birds continue to thrive while preserving opportunities for future generations to enjoy these amazing climbing areas.

That also means one of our favorite adventures is back: guided multi-pitch climbing on Granite Mountain!

We’ve got a little bit of everything this season, from Intro to Rock and Lead Climbing all the way up to Trad, Multi Pitch, Crack Climbing, SPI Prep, and some brand new offerings we’re really excited about.

Granite Mountain Guides’ new owner and her fam had a great time at the Turkey Boulder Bowl Frdiay night. They gave us a nice little shout out and announced the upcoming Gecko/GMG public courses we’ll be offering in Jan/Feb/Mar, plus a special one just for youth ages 13-17. There’s space for up to 10 in each course…. DM us for details.

Gecko has been an awesome partner through the years and we’re excited to get the mojo flowing again with this great gym!

Last night, Granite Mountain Guides was honored as Adventure Partner of the Year by the Arizona Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Phoenix, alongside of GMG partner, Gecko Climbing Gym.

It was a special evening of dining with members of the center and hearing the stories of their vision loss and the stories of their struggles. We ate a meal with them the same way they do at the center, catered by their wonderful chef.

We were inspired by stories of their tenacity and generous hearts toward one another, as they fight to not only never give up, but also to live lives full of growth and adventure, in spite of immeasurable challenges.

Thank you .pix for the incredible honor. And thank you to GMG Guides, Ann Revill, Zach Stallman and Mike Riley for taking this group of climbers on a tangible and refreshing adventure at Granite Mountain.
