Dear Community,
In November of 2025 The Prescott Parks and Rec District ran the annual levy that allows the
District to run the pool and maintain the park here in Prescott. Unfortunately the levy did not
pass. The levy needed 60% of the vote to pass. It only received 59.51% of the vote. Only 18%
of the registered voters actually voted on the levy. The District applied for two different grants that might allow the pool to open this summer despite the levy not passing. However, the District did not receive those grants. The District was told that since the community did not support the District through the levy, they did not feel it a prudent use of money to give the District the grants.
Needless to say the Prescott Pool will not be opening this summer. It is unfortunate, but without the levy it is financially impossible to open the pool this year.
It is our hope that the voters of the Prescott Joint Parks and Rec District will vote for the levy this coming November so the pool can open in 2027.
Sincerely,
Prescott Joint Parks and Rec Board
