Today is the official day that opened its doors 20 years ago!

For those of you that don’t know..

Jonathan struggled with his weight and was teased in school. Around 13 yrs old he watched Rocky, put on a pair of sweats, a sweatshirt and a football helmet and took off down the road determined to get in shape. It was that day that he decided he would own a gym when he grew up.

He is the definition of a guy that follows his dreams with courage, tenacity and will that I’ve never seen before.

There are no words to describe how proud we are and how grateful we are to this community that made this day possible.

I find myself avoiding people and places because my ability to appear “ok” isn’t within my capacity anymore. I have spent a lifetime trying to look like I have it all together. The weight of perfectionism and pretending to be invincible has taken a toll this year. While it is an uncomfortable place for me to be, it is time for me to let my guard down and grow.

I am terrified and optimistic. I am resentful and grateful. I have doubt and faith. The juxtaposition of life.

This picture is a genuine smile. There is nothing better than self care mixed with family time!

In my grief, I have happy moments and peace. Practicing the art of soft resilience.

When someone is hurt and upset.. what do you say or do??

As a person who has struggled knowing what to say when someone is experiencing grief or tragedy, while then being catapulted into fackery of my own.. I now understand that there isn’t really anything to say. No emoji to awkwardly slide by the post because the only real thing to say sometimes is… This is awful, you shouldn’t have to go through this and I’m here. All the other fluff is basic 🐂💩!
