Word of the day. Don't shoot active law enforcement while they are conducting law enforcement actions. It's the ultimate FAFO. The last guy who shot and killed a local Sheriff Deputy is looking at capital punishment

*If I had to guess* - SCOTUS will rule that there was/is no historical analog prior to 1791 (the Bruen test) prohibiting someone who uses a substance from owning a gun.

They'll likely note that there were laws that temporarily suspended the ability to have a gun on your person (i.e. some towns banned carrying when drunk) when actually intoxicated but that's not the same as banning someone from owning a gun who occasionally ingests a substance into their body.

Time will tell I suppose....

Yavapai County Lifts Fire Restrictions for Zones 1-5

YAVAPAI COUNTY, Arizona – Following significant monsoon moisture and a reduced risk of wildfire, Yavapai County will lift its county-wide fire ban effective Friday, September 5, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. The ban is being lifted for all Yavapai County's fire zones (1-5), which include the following cities and towns: Prescott, Prescott Valley, Dewey-Humboldt, Mayer, Cordes Junction, Black Canyon City, Congress, North Wickenburg, Peeples Valley, Yarnell, Wilhoit, Cottonwood, Sedona, Camp Verde, and all unincorporated areas.

This decision was made in close coordination with regional partners, including the Prescott National Forest, Coconino National Forest, Tonto National Forest, and the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management (DFFM), who are also lifting fire restrictions. Recent rainfall throughout the county has increased humidity and moisture content in vegetation, leading fire officials to agree that conditions are appropriate to lift the current restrictions.

“We appreciate the public’s cooperation during the fire ban, which was critical in preventing human-caused wildfires during a period of high danger,” said Ashley Ahlquist, Yavapai County Emergency Manager. “While we are lifting the ban, we urge everyone to remain vigilant. Please continue to practice fire safety, never leave a campfire unattended, and ensure any fire is completely extinguished before you leave.”

Residents are advised to check with their local fire district for any specific regulations that may still apply in their area.

For more information, please visit the Yavapai County website at www.yavapaiready.gov or follow the Yavapai County Office of Emergency Management on social media. For information on restrictions on federal and state lands, please visit the appropriate agency’s website.

Wheelchair-Bound Navy Veteran Shot on Seattle Waterfront — The Self-Defense Case That’s Anything but Simple

What starts as a verbal confrontation turns into a fight over stolen valor, a ripped patch, a knife, an airsoft gun, and finally — a bullet to the chest.

On July 31, 2025, 68-year-old Harold James Powell was playing guitar near Pier 55 in Seattle when 32-year-old Gregory William Timm confronted him.

Within seconds, Timm had ripped a patch from Powell’s wheelchair, Powell had drawn a knife and what looked like a gun, and Timm had backed away, retrieved a pistol, and fired.

Now, Washington’s Stand Your Ground laws, disparity-of-force rules, and the blurred lines of self-defense will decide if this was justified or criminal.

In this breakdown, I walk through the facts, the law, and why “being right” legally isn’t the same as walking away free.

Because when the smoke clears, the real battle begins — in court.

WATCH and decide: justified self-defense, or could it have gone another way?
