Why do we bridge in EVERY Pilates class?
Because bridging is so much more than “just lifting your hips.”
It’s one of the most important foundational movements in Pilates because it teaches your body how to create strength, stability, and control from the inside out.
✨ Strengthens the glutes + hamstrings
✨ Builds deep core stability
✨ Supports a healthy, mobile spine
✨ Improves pelvic stability and alignment
✨ Teaches you to move with your breath
✨ Improves body awareness and control
And the best part? There are SO many ways to progress it. Add a ball, ring, a single leg, pulses, marching, bosu … suddenly that “simple” bridge is no longer so simple. 🥵🔥
We do it in every class because the fundamentals matter. Strong glutes, a stable core, and a connected body create the foundation for everything else we do in Pilates.
Never underestimate the bridge. It’s simple, but it’s powerful. 💪🏼
