Tomorrow, the nation will observe the 25th anniversary of the terror attacks of September 11, 2001.

In accordance with the Presidential proclamation recognizing the commemoration of Patriot Day, Governor Ivey has issued the following directive ordering flags to be flown at half-staff at the Capitol Complex in Montgomery and throughout the state of Alabama from sunrise to sunset on Patriot Day, Friday, September 11, 2026.

The public is invited to join us for the 9-11 Honor and Remembrance Ceremony tomorrow, Friday, September 11, 2026, at the Public Safety Building at 7:30 a.m.

If you have thought about learning Spanish, now is the time. Classes start THIS Monday, so make sure to get registered!

Interested in Learning Spanish?

Instructor Susan Hanson will be offering Spanish classes on Mondays, beginning September 14th and running through October 19th at the Upper Kingston Community Center from 6pm-8pm.

Ms. Hanson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and brings a wealth of real-world experience. She is a U.S. Army veteran and a former FBI agent, where she used her Spanish language skills extensively during her 24-year career. She has also served as a Spanish teacher at Prattville High School.

$60 per person

Do you have a passion for theatre, creativity, and bringing people together? We’re looking for someone to help lead the artistic vision and programming of Prattville’s Way Off Broadway Theatre!

Our Cultural Arts Theater Coordinator will help plan and coordinate productions, auditions, workshops and special events; recruit and work with volunteers; oversee theatre scheduling and ticket sales; and serve as a key connection between the theatre, community, audiences and supporters.

Learn how to be prepared, stay alert, and protect yourself at our FREE Ladies Self-Defense Class, taught by Lt. Brandon Amos of the Prattville Police Department.

This hands-on class is designed for teen girls and women ages 15+ who want to learn practical self-defense techniques or refresh skills they already have.
