This weekend I competed in the Louisiana Scratch Match tournament held in Shreveport, LA. The format of this tournament is one of my favorite formats we bowl. After 8 games of qualifying yesterday I entered today’s match play finals as the highest qualifier. With the pins dropping from yesterday and not carrying over, today was all about winning your match. At the end of the day I just couldn’t keep up with my good friend Ava who went undefeated and won the tournament. I finished the last tournament of the year in second place and very proud of how I bowled. I averaged just under 190 for 15 games.

Junior Gold day 4 - last night was the final day of qualifying. While I didn’t make the first cut, I still had my best showing at Junior Gold. I started my first day strong and caught a tough pair. All in all I am happy with my performance this year, I have a lot to work on for next year. Thank you to all the volunteers who worked this week at the centers and thanks to the coaches who met with me this week and offered advice, it truly helped me this week.

Junior Gold Day 3 - Today was an absolute grind fest. Today’s pattern was my least favorite of all the patterns this week. The squad time was my least favorite of all the squad times this week. Long pattern with a 7am start definitely got me outside of my comfort zone. A mental lapse early in the day cost me some pins but I was able to regroup and refocus and grind out a 633. Still averaging 170ish this week and looking forward to finishing the tournament out strong. Tomorrow is 830 pm at Super Bowl.

Junior Gold Day 2 — Another great day on the Lanes. After starting game 1 with 4 out of 5 opens from trying what looked good in the practice session I decided to make a big move and try something else. A big jump right and some advice from my friends and squad competitors at what they were seeing I shot 192-181-210 to get to 720 for the day. Looking to keep it going tomorrow as we bowl day 3 at 7 am back at Buzz Social.

Junior Gold day 1 - Today we began the qualifying portion of our competition. I had my best first day in all the previous Junior Golds I have been to. I need to improve in my splits and pick up a few more spares but overall very happy with my start of this years tournament. Looking forward to carrying it over tomorrow as we bowl our 2nd round at 1130 at Super Bowl.

Practice is complete! After 4 practice squads over the last 3 days with my five ball arsenal chosen the tournament officially starts tomorrow. I am going to trust my process, focus on one shot at a time, stay in the moment, and make my spares. I am excited for this week and look forward to competing with the best from all over the United States and the world. I look forward to meeting new people and making new friends.

This weekend we competed in the 2025 LA State Pepsi Youth Championship. League qualifying was held last October and Louisiana’s best showed up at Bowlero in Kenner this weekend. Yesterday’s qualifying consisted of 1 four game block and cutting to the top 8. After qualifying I was in 4th place heading to today’s single game double elimination bracket. When all was said and done, after winning some close matches and losing two closes matches I end the tournament in 3rd place. Always fun to bowl and compete with the best in the state and many of my closest friends. Up next gulf coast road 2 gold tour next weekend in Mobile Alabama.
