Registration is now open for Vernon Township Summer Camp! This fun-filled summer program will run from Monday, June 15 through Friday, July 31. The camp has expanded for the upcoming season and now welcomes children who are ages 4–8 on or before September 1, 2026, with activities taking place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Campers will enjoy a full schedule of games, crafts, sports, themed activities, special guests, and lifeguard-led swim lessons every third day to give them a summer packed with a variety of activities, learning and new friendships.

Due to overwhelming demand, group swim lessons at the Vernon Township Aquatic Center have been extended for an additional week, now running through the week of August 4! With summer camp wrapping up, this is a great opportunity for campers to continue honing the swim skills they’ve been building all summer. Located at 16652 N. Buffalo Grove Road in Vernon Hills, the Aquatic Center offers group lessons Monday through Thursday, with Fridays reserved for weather makeups. Each 30-minute class is limited to just five students, allowing for more personalized instruction. From beginner basics to advanced stroke techniques, there’s something for every age and skill level. The first day of camp for children ages 4-7 is Monday, June 16, 2025, and runs through Friday, August 1, at William E. Peterson Park, 16652 N. Buffalo Grove Road in Vernon Hills. Save the date! Summer Camp 2025 registration will begin on Monday, January 27, 2025, for returning campers and Wednesday, January 29 for new campers. Camp is held from June 16 through August 1, Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at William E. Peterson Park, located at 16652 N. Buffalo Grove Road in Buffalo Grove. Employment applications for summer positions will be opening up in early February.

Our camp talent show is back! Families are welcome to join us for the show on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 26th. You are invited to join us for a picnic lunch at Peterson Park. Pack a cooler and join us for lunch from 11:45-12:15 (Vernon Township will NOT provide lunch to families or campers on this day). Some picnic tables will be available but feel free to bring chairs, blankets, etc.
The talent show entertainment will start at 12:30 pm at the Vernon Township Community Services Building (CSB), 2900 N. Main Street (next to the Vernon Township Administrative Building). It will be standing (and sitting on the floor) room only so please consider only inviting immediate family members to this event. Can't wait to see you there!
