Powhatan Fastpitch families took over CarMax Park Saturday Night! 🥎⚾💥

What a night celebrating Women & Girls in Sports with the Richmond Flying Squirrels! We had everything:
🔥 a foul ball caught by one of our crew
🔥 an unbelievable 7-run last inning comeback by the Flying Squirrels
🔥 fireworks lighting up the sky to end the night

The girls had an absolute blast cheering, laughing, and making memories together. Nights like this remind us how special this softball family really is. ❤🧡

As we spend time with family and friends this weekend, let’s take a moment to reflect with gratitude on those who served and gave everything for our nation.

Stella’s favorite thing about softball is hitting the ball all the way to the grass! 🥎💥 She also loves running the bases and playing alongside her favorite teammate, Sailor ⚡ When she grows up, Stella wants to be a dentist 🦷

Coach Stephen says “Stella is a great player and teammate. She’s always one of the first in line to do drills, get on the field or ready to bat. She is always rooting for her teammates and helps them out when needed. I am really blessed to have her on my team.”

Sometimes the best moments in softball happen unexpectedly ❤️🥎

Due to a scheduling mix-up today, two PFS teams were originally supposed to play each other, while Amelia believed they were scheduled against one of the PFS teams. Instead of canceling games, Amelia split their players between both matchups so everyone could play — and it turned into an awesome evening for all involved!

The Powhatan girls and Amelia girls had an absolute blast, and the parents loved seeing the kids out there just having fun and enjoying the game. It was such a great example of sportsmanship, teamwork, flexibility, and what youth softball is really all about.

Just wanted to share a couple pictures from today and give a shoutout to everyone who helped make the best out of a confusing situation. 🥎🧡🖤💚🖤🥎

Get those uniforms ready, bring your biggest smiles, and be prepared to capture some great memories from the season. 😄📷
