It is with great sadness to share that our beloved owner, David K. Daniels passed away peacefully on October 14th. Golf truly meant the world to him from a young age - he was a proud member of The Ohio State University golf team alongside teammate Jack Nicklaus. In the mid-1970’s, Dave and his best friend and longtime business partner, Pat Carey, purchased Mill Quarter Golf Course in Powhatan, Virginia. For the next five decades, he nurtured the course as a true family enterprise, employing four generations of his family. His heart for young people showed in his work with the Virginia State Golf Association (VSGA) V.I.P. and scholarship programs, helping promising junior golfers take their next steps in college and in life. A celebration of life for David K. Daniels will be held on December 5, 2025 from 4–6 p.m. at Stonehenge Country Club.

We are heartbroken to share the news which many of you have already heard, our beloved David Daniels, who was the general manager for over 40 years sadly passed away from cancer on Sunday June 8th, 2025. Not only was he a friend to all, but he was truly the backbone of the Mill Quarter community. David was proud to be working as a part of the family business since the young age of 12 years old. Aside from his family, Mill Quarter and golf was everything to him. He looked at his employees and patrons of the golf course as his second family - you all were so special to him.

Please join us remembering David on Monday, June 16th - viewing and service at Woody Funeral Home Huguenot Chapel, followed by a procession to Hollywood Cemetery for graveside burial .

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Berny Parton, our beloved manager who was with us for over 20 years. He was the most honest, reliable, personable employee who always went above and beyond for our golf course, in which we will forever be thankful for. He truly was an essential part of Mill Quarter and a great friend to many - we will all miss him dearly. No arrangements have been made at this time. Condolences to all of those who knew and loved him🙏🏼 RIP Berny
