Earthseed Yoga LLC

Earthseed Yoga LLC Yoga found me in during a tough patch of my life. What started as a way to move, slowly became a source of ease, peace, and grounding.

Now, I feel called to share this beautiful practice with others—so that yoga can be a gentle companion on their journey.

I think about this quote constantly, mostly because it's hilarious, but also because it's dead on.

When I think about what first drew me to yoga, I immediately remember the second class I ever took and the woman next to me floated from Downward Facing Dog into a beautifully elegant Scorpion Handstand.

I saw that and immediately went, “I WANNA DO THAT!” And so the first 5-6 years of my yoga practice were dedicated to feeding my ego and nailing that beautifully elegant float from Downdog to Scorpion Handstand.

I got there eventually. And it felt amazing for about a week.

Then I wanted the next pose. And the next one after that. There was always some new shape waiting on the other side that I convinced myself would finally make me feel like a "real" yogi.

It took me a long time to realize the pose was never actually the point.

What mattered was who I became chasing this perfect shape. The version of me who learned to fall out without being convinced falling meant I failed.

The version of me who stopped needing every attempt to look pretty in order for it to count.

The version of me who finally understood that showing up shaky and imperfect was the practice, not some lesser version of it.

The poses are just the gateway. What you're actually signing up for is a slow, ongoing lesson in getting out of your own head (or your own ass 😅).

If you want to dig deeper and learn to approach your practice beyond your ego (and your ass), my No BS Yoga Philosophy Course will show you how.

Comment 'PATH' below and I'll send you all the details.

🧘🏼‍♀️👍🧘🏼‍♀️Master Malasana (Garland Pose) 🧘‍♀️
Strengthen your legs, improve hip mobility, and build a stable foundation with Malasana. This deep squat helps open the hips, lengthen the spine, and enhance ankle flexibility while promoting better posture and balance. Practice mindfully, breathe deeply, and let your body move with control.

Two poses. One Sanskrit word apart.

Pārśvakoṇāsana and Pārśvottānāsana both begin with Pārśva, meaning side or flank.

But the second word changes the entire direction of the pose.

Koṇa means angle.

In Pārśvakoṇāsana, the front knee bends towards 90°. The thigh moves towards parallel with the floor, while the torso extends sideways in one long diagonal from the back foot through the top fingertips.

The body creates an angle. The name told you.

Uttāna means intense stretch.

In Pārśvottānāsana, both legs remain straight. The stance narrows, the hips face forward and the torso folds over the front leg from the hip joints.

Not sideways. Forward.

One opens laterally.
One folds forward.

Shared first word.
Different second word.
Different stance.
Different body.

The Sanskrit names hold the instruction—but only if we listen.

💬 Which of these two poses do you find harder to hold, and what does your body tell you during the pause?

We read every one.

INTERMEDIATE / BENT-KNEE BOAT POSE (Navasana)

Build core strength while keeping the spine long, chest open, and legs actively engaged.

⏱️ How to practice:
• Hold for 20–30 seconds
• 3 sets
• Rest 20–30 seconds between sets
• Progress gradually toward 45–60 seconds

✨ Benefits:
• Strengthens the core and abdominal muscles
• Improves balance and stability
• Engages the hip flexors and thighs
• Supports better posture and spinal control
• Builds endurance for more advanced core-focused yoga poses

Tip: Keep your chest open and avoid collapsing or rounding your lower back. Quality of alignment matters more than holding longer.

Winter doesn’t ask us to do more—it asks us to listen.

At the Winter Wellness Retreat, we gathered in the quiet beauty of Heart of Yellowstone Ranch to rest, move gently, eat well, create, and simply be. In the stillness of winter, we found warmth in community, nourishment in simplicity, and renewal in slowing down.

Thankful for this circle of women, the land that held us, and the practices that reminded us what wellness truly feels like. 🤍🔥
