At Outlive, we practice performance-focused physical therapy, meaning we don’t just treat injuries — we help active people stay in the gym, continue progressing toward their goals, and address small issues before they become big setbacks. We have all been in the "corporate" PT world before and know that it isn't the proper environment for clients to get the one-on-one, individual care they deserve - so our goal is to provide that quality and that attention.
We believe that our clients should benefit from a collaborative team that works together to achieve their goals of staying in the gym and improving their health and fitness goals so that they can enjoy all aspects of life. Our goal in working with coaches and trainers is to help remove the physical limitations that often slow that progress down--things like persistent knee pain with squats, shoulder irritation during pressing, back tightness that limits lifting, old injuries that keep resurfacing--so that they can maintain the progress that they make with you.
Many clients keep training through discomfort because they don’t think it’s “bad enough” for medical care, they’re worried they’ll be told to stop exercising, or they've "been through PT before and it didn't help". We find that taking a more comprehensive, active and strength-focused approach to therapy helps patients not only get better faster, but also understand the cause of their pain and injuries to help prevent it in the future.
When there is more direct collaboration between trainers/coaches and us as PTs:
• You keep your clients consistent and progressing
• Clients feel supported by a team instead of choosing between training and pain relief
• Small issues get addressed early instead of turning into layoffs or cancellations
• We can help coordinate exercise selection and modifications so your programming continues uninterrupted
We're always happy to be a resource — whether it’s a quick question about a client, movement modifications, or a second opinion when something doesn’t feel right. We never want to replace the trainer’s role; we want to help support it!
