Everyday, a child kills/harms him/herself or another person because they had access to a gun in their own home. My newly released children’s book, Ms. Holly Pointe’s Only Look! Don't Touch! Go Tell! provides a child-friendly way to guide conversations about handgun safety, reinforcing common scenarios and how a child should respond if they encounter a firearm.
Additionally, a supplemental safety pamphlet is available to further engage parents and caregivers on proper firearm storage and how to protect children when they are away from home. Responsible firearm storage is crucial to reducing accidental deaths among this vulnerable population. Features of this book include-diverse characters, real-life scenarios illustrated, tips to prevent accidental access, proper gun storage methods.
I also created a "character", Ms. Holly Pointe. Ms. Holly Pointe is a hollow point piece of ammunition. Her name is a “play" on hollow point ammunition. Her slogan is, “Responsible Gun Storage is Responsible Gun Ownership”. She will be used in PSA's.
This book needs to be in the hands of people who need it the most. WE can address this issue of safe gun storage. I would like an opportunity to share this resource with your audience.
