🌟 We would like to welcome Morgan Jones to The Country Walk Torpedoes! She will serve as one of two assistant coaches.
"My name is Morgan Jones, and I’m a recent graduate from Kennesaw State University with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing. I’ve been passionate about swimming for many years, starting my journey with Lightning Strike Swim Team at Echo Mill and continuing with Stingrays, Tidal Waves, and the City of Atlanta Dolphins. I swam competitively throughout high school at Hillgrove High, where I competed at both county and state levels. In 2020, I helped my team set a new school record in the 200 free relay. For the past eight years, I’ve worked at West Cobb Aquatic Center as a lifeguard and swim instructor, teaching both children and adults in the Cobb County area. I’ve helped swimmers of all ages, from those learning to feel comfortable in the water to kids preparing for summer and year-round swim teams. I love watching my students progress and develop confidence in the water. This season, I’m excited to take on a new role as one of the assistant coaches and continue making a positive impact on young swimmers!"

"Hello! My name is Morgan Nguyen and I am currently a full-time student at Valdosta State University studying psychology with a minor of entrepreneurship. I am the president of the club swim team at VSU and have been swimming competitively since middle school. I began my swimming career at Country Walk, and fell in love with the sport ever since. I am very blessed and excited to be back to help coach and spend my summer with this team!"

🌟 We are very happy to welcome Coach Larry Parks as our Torpedoes Head Coach! Coach Parks has been our assistant coach since 2022. He is the head coach of the Northwest Family YMCA WAHOOS, teaches swim lessons locally, and coached at Oakamber for three years. He is married to his lovely wife, Lisa Parks. They have two children, Lauren and Lathan.

BIG Congratulations to our Country Walk swimmers who competed at the Georgia State Meet this weekend! 🥳🙌🏼 🏊🏻‍♀️

⭐️Trey Gripshover was the state champion in 25 Free and Fly and placed second in IM.

⭐️ Bradley Humphrey: swam three events for best times and placed 2nd in his 50 Free by two one hundredth of a second.

⭐️ Ryan Harper Vinton: got second place in 25 Free, 25 Breast and IM for the state of Georgia.

⭐️ Morgan Deloatch: swam three events with a best time in backstroke and placed second in the state.

⭐️ Ella Palmer: impressed everyone by dropping something like 10 seconds this season in her IM and placed 4th.

⭐️Annalise Palmer tied for 4th in her 25 Free.

⭐️ Keenan Andrews: swam IM in the finals dropped 4 seconds and placed 7th.

⭐️Josiah Langston: placed 15th in 25 Breast.

⭐️ Jackson Hamilton: broke a minute for his 100 Free- dropping about 7 seconds this season

☀️ 🏊‍♂️ Our final swimsuit fitting is today, April 14th, from 3-5pm in the Country Walk Community Room. Please make sure your child is registered prior to purchasing a suit, as some groups are full.

Feel free to pop by and chat with our coordinator or one of the coaches.

🏊🏻‍♀️ Swim team is open to all abilities, ages 5-18. We also have a non-competitive rookie team for ages 3-4. You do not have to be a resident of CW to join the team. 🫶🏼

Registration is now open for all groups! Registration is open until spaces are full. Register ASAP in order to guarantee your spot. Once groups fill, a waiting list will be started.
