It’s Memorial Day weekend. Don’t forget why we are receiving the freedom of a long weekend, of BBQs and gatherings. To remember those who can’t.

And on that note … the Murph. Who’s doing it?

1 mile run
100 pull ups
200 pushups
300 squats
1 mile run

I am doing it. But I am modifying. It does NOT change the reason. I’m doing it in the first place.
So - who’s with me?

It is supposed to be done on Monday and I will be filming myself in portions. Instead of running, as that is not part of my protocol yet, I will be biking for 10 minutes. A leisurely jog is about a 10 minute mile… I find that comparable! And it’s more appropriate for my knees at this point.

I am not permitted to reach 90° yet unless it is pain-free for squatting. I may sit to stand, but it will be done!

As for the traditional Murph, it involves a 20 pound jacket or armor. However, modifications include bodyweight only. I’ll be doing that right there.

I’ll start around 7am Monday Morning to be done before I head to PHS ⚾️

Yes, I’m due for knee surgery. That’s not going to stop me and I’m not going to use it as an excuse. What good would that do?

Too often we use our injuries, “colds”, weather or a whole slew of other excuses not to get 10 minutes of fitness done. In what world does that really make sense? Start calling yourself out. Why? Because you’re stronger than that!
