Here we go again.

Off on another crazy cycling adventure 🚴🏻‍♂️

I’m currently in Gary, SD awaiting the start of The DAMN, the Day Across Minnesota.

It’s a 244 mile gravel ride across the southern part of Minnesota. The ride ends in Hager City, WI.

We start riding at midnight and we have until midnight to finish.

One Day, 244 miles!

Rochelle is one of those people.

She’s not only a good friend, but she’s also a passionate coach who has poured her heart into helping others. If you’ve ever seen or been part of the Legends program at Kitsap CrossFit, you’ve seen the impact she’s had. Woke up with a bit of a stiff and sore low back this morning.

Didn’t freak out.

Didn’t cancel all my appointments.

Just spent about 20 minutes moving. Afterward, I felt a bit better.

Perfect? Pain free?

No, but better.

Sometimes a little movement and time are all that’s needed.

Here’s the thing…

Not every injury needs same-day treatment.

But when you’re dealing with pain that’s limiting your training, work, sleep, or daily life, waiting several weeks just to start the rehab process can be frustrating.

The longer some problems hang around, the more likely you are to begin losing strength, fitness, confidence, and tolerance for the activities you enjoy.

That’s why I intentionally keep my schedule lean.

It means I usually have the flexibility to get new clients evaluated within a few days—not because every injury is an emergency, but because getting the right plan in place early often makes the road back a little smoother.

If you’ve been putting off addressing an injury because you assumed you’d have to wait weeks to be seen, reach out.

Let’s get you moving in the right direction—sooner rather than later.

Okay, full disclosure… I do take vitamin D—at least when I remember to. Living in the Pacific Northwest, I probably should be more consistent.

And if I were going to add one supplement to my routine, it would probably be creatine monohydrate.

Beyond that?

For most healthy people without a known deficiency or a specific medical reason, the evidence supporting many dietary supplements is much weaker than the marketing would have you believe.

That doesn’t mean every supplement is harmful or useless. Some absolutely have their place.

But the supplement industry is also poorly regulated, and it’s very good at selling the promise of quick results.

If you’re looking to get the biggest return on your investment, I’d focus on the basics first:

✅ Eat a nutritious diet most of the time.
😴 Get 7–9 hours of quality sleep.
💪 Exercise consistently.
👥 Invest in strong relationships.

Those habits have a much bigger impact on your health and performance than the vast majority of supplements ever will.

Sometimes the least exciting advice is also the most effective.

One good night of sleep can be a really big deal.

This client came in with numbness in both hands that had been waking him up multiple times every night.

Two days after his first visit, I checked in to see how he was doing.

His response?

“I slept the whole night.”

Will one treatment solve everything?

Probably not.

When symptoms have been hanging around for a while, lasting improvement usually takes time and a thoughtful plan.

But when someone gets their first uninterrupted night of sleep in weeks or months, that’s a meaningful step in the right direction.

Sometimes the first sign you’re making progress isn’t less pain during the day.

It’s waking up feeling like you actually slept.
