It was a great day on Texoma, we caught about 30 fish on top then moved to slabs to find some nice overs to put in the box. Good times!

This is Brantley, he is 6 years old. We learned to cast a spinning reel the first thing this morning and it took him a while 10 minutes before he had it down and had his very first striper on the line that he caught by himself on a topwater lure. It doesn't get any better than that! We had a great morning casting topwaters then switch to slabs to keep putting fish in the box. Good times! (903)815-1609.

I love fishing in the rain! Fishing is almost always great in the rain. We caught them all on slabs today. This slab made by was purchased in April and has caught hundreds of fish since, his slabs keep the paint longer than any of the rest I have used but these striper will eventually be beat the paint off no matter what you use on them. Fishing was great on our open boat trip today! We caught all of our overs and released one that weighed in right in at 10lbs. We caught them all on topwaters and slabs today, picking through small fish to find the good sized fish to put in the box. Good times! (903)815-1609

I took this weekend off and I'll be back out Monday. I have Tuesday available for an open boat trip who wants to go?
This is my trip from yesterday, we caught lots of fish using topwaters and slabs. We turned back several big fish too big to keep and countless little ones too small to clean. We even released a few good sized box fish because they didn't need anymore fillets. Birds were working, big fish smashing topwater, this is what's its all about!

Fishing was fantastic out there today! We caught all of our big fish and then had to release several more that were too big to keep along with our limit of small ones. Everything was caught on top orders and slabs today, good times!

Its springtime here on Lake Texoma and that means fishing is fantastic, I'm happy to report this year that the seasonal expectations we have are proving to be true. Last year we were flooded out with a muddy lake and we missed our springtime fishing of easy limits of fish. This year however, we have been catching 100's of fish on most trips using slabs and topwaters. Though I admit most of the fish we have been catching are tiny. We are having to pick through a lot of small fish to keep the bigger ones but most trips we are still coming in with a good box of fish with our limit of big ones. It is just a sign o f how healthy our lake is right now. It is typical after a flood to have an over abundance small fish. The flood means a successful spawn for the stripers as well as having thousands of acres of flooded shoreline for fry to hide in. This increases the success rate of reaching adulthood for fish of all species. The future sure looks good for Texoma in the coming years, even by this fall, all of those those small fish should be plenty big enough to keep and limits will come easier for all of us.

First we caught all of our overs on topwater, then we moved to slabs and continued to catch fish the whole time we were out. Picking through lots of little fish still to keep the better sized fish. Fishing is great right now, who wants to go?
