🎣 Lake Texoma Striper Fishing Report – May 2026

The May bite on Lake Texoma has been incredibly consistent, with anglers catching quality limits of striped bass drifting live threadfin shad near major river channels and deeper ledges. Schools of feeding fish have stayed active throughout the month, especially during low-light morning periods and on windy afternoons.

Steve Buckley with Buckley Striper Guide ServiceοΏΌ continues to put clients on fish daily using proven live bait patterns around suspended bait schools and channel edges. Most productive depths have ranged from 15 to 30 feet depending on wind direction and bait movement.

Family trips, corporate groups, and first-time anglers have all enjoyed steady action recently, with plenty of keeper-sized stripers hitting the coolers. Water clarity has remained good, and threadfin shad are holding tight to the channels, making drifting presentations extremely effective right now.

Post-spawn fish are stacked on river channels and crushing live bait along with 1.5oz chartreuse slab spoons in 15–25 feet of water. Great weather, solid water clarity, and nonstop rod-bending action made for an awesome week with our clients around Pottsboro, Texas.

Lake Texoma Striper Fishing Report 🎣

Another solid day on Lake Texoma putting clients on quality striped bass! These fish are starting to stack up and we’re seeing consistent action using a mix of techniques depending on conditions.

From single big fish to full boat limits, it’s been steady fishing and a great time to get on the water.

Trips are running 5–6 hours and we’re targeting stripers using both live bait and artificial setups depending on what the fish want that day.
