What a Summer! ☀️💙🧡
That’s a wrap on the Village of Potsdam Summer Recreation Camp! 🎉
From June 29 through August 7, we had an incredible six weeks of fun, learning, and making memories. This year, we averaged 82 kids per day — more than double our daily average from 2025! We’re so proud of how much the program has grown, and even more grateful for the families who trusted us to provide their children with a fun, active, and memorable summer.
Over the six weeks, our participants enjoyed:
🏊 Daily swim lessons
🎨 A wide variety of games, crafts, sports, and activities
🌿 A field trip to the Nicandri Nature Center in Massena
🏛️ Special lessons about Potsdam and the surrounding area from the Potsdam Public Museum
☀️ Six weeks of fun, friendship, and making memories!
We also want to give a HUGE thank you to our partners who helped make these opportunities possible. Thank you to the Potsdam School District and Hunger Solutions New York, allowing us to serve 1,212 lunches to the participants throughout the summer.
Our trip to Nicandri Nature Center was made possible through the NYS Connect-Kids-to-Parks Field Trip Grant Program. We are incredibly grateful for the support that allowed our kids to experience and learn more about the natural world right here in the North Country. 🌲🦋
A special thank you as well to the staff at the Potsdam Public Museum for taking the time to come down and teach our campers about Potsdam and the surrounding communities. It was a wonderful way for our kids to connect with the history of the place they call home. 🏛️
And most importantly, thank you to our incredible summer recreation staff and all of our families. Our staff worked hard every day to make this program successful, and our families brought the energy, enthusiasm, and support that made the summer so special.
