Do you also eat "a lot"? Or maybe you don't and you're fatigued and need to eat more.

Eating a lot looks different for everyone. Also, what makes up your plate matters. I do believe that all food fits, however if most of your foods lack fruits, vegetables, whole grains and variety then that is something you can work to ADD to your plate.

What did you think a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist would be up to on vacation??!

A lot of my clients feel like vacation sets them back on their healthy eating. And that might be true, especially if you take a lot of vacations or travel often.

Getting movement in even if it's walking is always a good idea! I don't personally like to walk unless I'm running... or walking to a destination. So I opted for hike and paddle board!

Add fiber in the form of fruit and veggies like carrots cucumbers green beans with hummus appetizers and sides of cherries and grapes; add NH picked blueberries to some oatmeal in the AM!

Choose protein that isn't too high in fat or fried (if you can make it or order it out). If it is fattier, think about choosing other options at another meal.

Moderate desserts. It can be easy to over indulge on vacation. Allow your body to enjoy sweets! However, sweets everyday and often don't make my body feel super great, so I'm OK with choosing my favorites and leaving the "eh" options in the trash.

What are your tips or which ones did you find to be the most helpful?

๐Ÿ Why eat applesauce before a workout?

Helps to maintain blood glucose levels from the quick digesting carbs within 15-30 minutes before a workout.

These quick carbs easy access into our blood stream help provide our central nervous system with fuel! That way, our muscles can get fuel from our muscle glycogen easily.

Our brain never shuts off, it always needs fuel. During exercise our muscle glycogen is providing the fuel for our muscles and our liver glycogen is maintaining blood glucose levels. Help our blood glucose out a bit with an applesauce! Especially if the workout is high intensity or heavy lifting - who wouldn't want a boost so that you can push harder and adapt to your training to maintain or gain lean muscle mass.

Going for an easy walk? Don't necessarily need an applesauce but it also wouldn't hurt.

Are you going to try apple sauce before your next workout? Perfect for those working out early in the morning or who can't tolerate solid food before.
