Good Morning DDSC Players & Families!

Fall registration is now open as of today, June 1st. Please register at ddsoccer.org under "Registration." Below is a list of important Fall 2024 soccer information and details to help guide you in this upcoming season:
The most up-to-date information is posted on the home page of our website, ddsoccer.org.

A Coach/Parent "Family Meeting" will be in mid-August.

Shortly after teams are formed you will receive a Team Welcome letter that will share your specific team's expectations for the season from your Coach. This letter includes practice day, time, and location and how to best communicate with your Coach.

Practices are in the evenings at a David Douglas School District field. Twice a week for 3rd through 8th grade players; Once a week for our Micro Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten through 2nd grade players.

Practices for 3rd-8th grade teams may start the week of Monday, August 19th and run through the end of October.

Practices for Micro Pre-Kindergarten through 2nd grade teams start Wednesday, September 4th and run through the end of October.

Games are September through the end of October. (No game on Labor Day weekend.) In early November, Portland Youth Soccer Association (PYSA) provides an optional tournament opportunity for any of our interested 3rd through 8th grade teams.

3rd grade through 8th grade play Saturday games in the Portland area. Game schedules will be posted under "Team Schedules" by the end of August.

Micro Pre-Kindergarten through 2nd grade teams play Sunday afternoon intra-league games at Cherry Park School. (No game on Labor Day weekend.) Micro game schedules will be posted under "Team Schedules" by the end of August.

Micro Pre-Kindergarten through 2nd grade registration fees are $80.

3rd through 8th grade registration fees are $110.

A $10 late registration fee applies after registration closes July 31st.

Scholarships are available.

New uniform kits are $41. Each uniform kit includes a black jersey, red jersey, blacks shorts, and black socks. Ordered uniform kits will be delivered to you by the first game of the season. All players must wear a DDSC uniform at games. Used uniforms may be available.

Used uniforms and soccer gear are encouraged. DDSC is in need of more used uniforms and size 1-3 cleats. Contact DDSC Used Equipment Coordinator at [email protected] for donations and/or questions.

DDSC is teaming up with David Douglas High School this year to put on another fun, interactive, low-cost Summer Camp! It will be on Monday, August 12th through Thursday, August 15th from 6pm-8pm at DDHS Palermini Stadium Field (1500 SE 130th Ave. Portland, OR 97233). Cost is $35 per player. Click HERE to register.
Lastly, DDSC needs you! DDSC runs as a Volunteer organization. We are asking for Parents/Adults to step into Volunteer roles that includes on the field Coach and off the field Board positions and coordinators. Please contact [email protected] to be involved in any of these ways!

Happy Summer DDSC Families!

Here's a friendly reminder that Fall Registration closes this Monday, July 31st. Please check out ddsoccer.org for more information on how to register your child as a player as well as the coaching and team manager opportunities for you! We do take in consideration Coach and Friend requests, so please submit them under "Coach Request."

Interested in Coaching?! DDSC is invited to participate in a FREE Coaching Clinic through OYSA (Oregon Youth Soccer Association). Please let us know if you are interested in participating in the free coaching clinics on 8/15. We will be hosting OYSA Coaching Trainers at Parkrose High School from 5:30pm-6:15pm for a 7v7 Coaching Clinic and 6:30pm-7:15pm 9v9 Coaching Clinic. You are welcome to attend no matter what level you coach at (even if you coach above or below these levels, you will find valuable tips!). Please let us know here if you’d like to attend HERE!

Also, DDHS Soccer Camps are offering two camps this year in the evenings at the DDHS Palermini Stadium field. One for Middle and High School students the week of July 31-August 3, and another for students entering K-5 this fall August 7-10. Check out more detailed information here!

Lastly, please donate your used uniforms and gear. DDSC will be collecting used uniforms and gear during the summer camps as well as during the DDSC Coach/Parent Informational meeting in early August.

Dear DDSC Players, Families, & Community,
Welcome to spring 2023 soccer! I'm glad your family is joining DDSC this season.

As of now, teams are being formed depending on the registration player numbers with taking into consideration coach and player requests. Currently, our player numbers show 34 teams: 12 Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten (PreK/K) Micro teams, 12 1/2 grade Micro teams, and 10 3rd-8th grade teams! Wonderfully awesome (and overwhelming since my husband and I are still the Interim Registrars)! We need you! DDSC runs as a Volunteer organization. We are asking for Parents/Adults to step into volunteer on and off the field positions. No experience is necessary. Training and lesson plans are provided!

DDSC has the greatest need for coaches specifically at the Micro PreK/K and 1/2 grade teams plus a 4th grade boys team and a 5th/6th grade boys team. Please reply to this email with any desires and/or questions to coach! All volunteers go through a background check for the safety of our players and community.

Some important Spring 2023 soccer information to remember:

Thirdly, DDSC Used Equipment and Uniform Coordinator Jessica Giannettino has put together a gear swap page. This is a community shared project hosted by one of our player's family. Please see if there's any gear that you can use and donate old soccer gear so that our players in our community can continue to use it!

The only way that this functions is if folks utilizing the swap contribute to the upkeep of the tracking document, found here. To pick up/donate gear, find the item(s) you'd like, text Jess at (618) 694-8082 to arrange pickup/drop off at her house in Cherry Park. Once picked up, please remove the item(s) you got from the swap, by deleting the entire row. To do so, right click on the number associated with that row and then delete. For Donations: Please add the items you're donating to the spreadsheet under the correct tab and size range (found at the bottom of the screen) and drop off at her house.

We're in particular need of size 1 cleats and can always use jerseys' your little players have outgrown! Contact Jess at [email protected] for any questions.

A $10 late fee will be added for orders after this date.

Hello DDSC Community!

David Douglas Soccer Club is a fun, low-cost volunteer-run non-profit recreational soccer club in our East Portland community for all children Preschool through going into 8th grade children. All abilities are welcomed! Scholarships are available. Volunteer opportunities are open.

Fall 2022 sign-ups are OPEN! now through mid-July at www.ddsoccer.org under "Registration." Please register your child in the grade they will enter in the Fall.

Practices start in August with games starting the weekend after Labor Day through the end of October.

DDSC is partnering with David Douglas High School soccer for this year's Summer Camp 2022: Monday, August 1st through Thursday, August 4th from 6pm to 8pm at David Douglas High School stadium field for $25 per player. To register, please contact Girls' Head Coach Amy McQueen at [email protected] Adult volunteers needed. Each volunteer will receive one camper stipend. David Douglas Soccer Club is a fun, low-cost volunteer-run non-profit recreational soccer club in our East Portland community for all children Preschool through going into 8th grade children.

DDSC Families -

We know that kids outgrow their gear so quickly, items can be costly to replace and then you have one more thing to donate when they outgrow them. Jess Giannettino, a parent and coach has offered to host an ongoing gear swap to make replacing and sharing cleats, jersey, shorts and socks easier for everyone. The club has lots of cleats already (we'd still take more!), but we do need shin guards, socks, jerseys and shorts. You can access the gear swap form here. The instructions are also found in the sheet, but here's how it will work:

Welcome DDSC Players and Families to the 2022 Spring Season! I'm so thankful to have our community play outside together, and to play my favorite sport of soccer!

Please join us for the DDSC Parent Meeting this upcoming Wednesday, March 9th at 6:30pm at Cherry Park School undercover area by the east playground. This is an opportunity for you to hear Club expectations for the spring 2022 season. You may enjoy browsing the Club website to read the by-laws, policies and procedures, rules, etc.

For those of you that are participating on a 3rd through 8th grade team, you will be hearing from your Team soon. Some teams will be playing as a multi-age, co-ed team due to numbers in these age groups. Once a week practice may start next week with an optional spring break practice depending on your Head Coach schedule. The six-game season will kick off on Saturday, April 2nd through May 21st between 9am to 4pm.

Micro Pre-Kindgarten through 2nd grade Families! Practice will be Wednesday evening from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at Cherry Park. Unfortunately with elementary school conferences, we will need to start practice Wednesday, March 30th. We have six teams for each age group: Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten and 1st/2nd grades. Micro games start Sunday afternoon, April 3rd through May 22nd between the times of 1pm to 4pm also at Cherry Park. We do need more Micro Head Coaches with some JR Coaches that are willing to assist. Let me know if you would like to be a Head Coach asap by emailing me at [email protected]. Our Micro rosters are still being finalized because of this need.

Hello David Douglas Soccer Club Families!

Registration for spring 2022 closes TONIGHT, March 1st. Teams are forming with Portland Youth Soccer Association this Friday. Please register your child now at www.ddsoccer.org. Also, please inform your friends and teammates to register this week.

Many of you have had difficulties registering under our 1st and 2nd grade Micro program. Blue Sombrero, our registration vendor found a glitch in the system, and it should be fixed now! Sorry for the frustration.

Lastly, some teams may need to be co-ed, multi-age teams this season due to low numbers in our 3rd through 8th grade teams. Micros teams are always this way. This is the best DDSC can do to make soccer available to all in our community. Please do contact me with questions and/or concerns.
