Today a story of how helping these young kids I have helped make it into college has some lasting impact. From way out in the Bitterroot Valley in Montana I had covered a young man by the name of Carson Katen - of Stevensville. He made it to college football but was inspired to lead his life to do good- my "Pay It Forward" speech must have worked. Anyway today his Mom dropped me a line to thank me and to let me know he is headed to Harvard Medical School where he wants to work on Alzheimer's and other brain-related issues. Congrats to Carson and to his family and community and thank you for thinking of me. You never know when the help you give will lead to something big!

This young man is on his way to some great things in life and in football. The two teams - Beaverton Beavers​ and Mountainside Mavericks have two of the best Coaches and programs in the State. Bob Boyer​ and John Mannion are the sort of men we need to preserve the integrity of the game. No wonder this game was a battle with the slight advantage to the Beavers in a #8 VS #9 battle.
