It’s with a heavy heart that I have to announce that Bold & Badass Fitness will be closing permanently at the end of this month.

Ultimately, we are going out of business because the coronavirus pandemic has taken a toll on B&B that we can not bounce back from. Please know that I don’t take this decision lightly, but also that our closing down is final at this point. I’m so proud that we made it through a full year of the pandemic due to the strength (*pun intended, of course*) of our community-- many other small businesses were not as lucky.

I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who supported us over the past 6 years, and especially during this last year while we grappled with the many changes brought on by the pandemic. So many members of our community helped us by attending virtual workouts, keeping memberships going during multiple rounds of shutdowns, donating funds to help provide scholarships for members who lost their jobs to the pandemic, and helping with community projects. I cannot thank you enough for all the ways you've showed up for the B&B community, our staff, and for me.

**Last Workout**
We’ll be opening up the last workout (6pm) on March 31st to our whole community-- current and former members, family, friends, etc-- so we can all share one last virtual sweat session together. (Signup link in bio!)

**Going-out-of-Business Garage Sale**
We will be selling our remaining equipment after we close. Come by on Saturday, April 3rd between 1-4pm to snag some accessories for your home gym, say hi, and help us raise a little cash for our exit. We also have a few t-shirts left if you’d like a memento too!

**Other Kickass Gyms To Checkout in April and beyond**
I know it’s hard to lose your community and workout routine all at once. Please reach out to our coaches Karen, Becky, and Matt if you would like to keep training with any of them individually after we close. I also highly recommend checking out (personal training and small group workouts) and .pdx (virtual and in-person classes) as they both have excellent coaching and similar ideology to Bold & Badass.

Trying new things is vulnerable and weird.
Today, for the first time in my life, I worked out in an actual gym- I did bench press and EVERYTHING. 💪

Despite being a very kinetic person and spending most of my life in constant physical training, everything I did today was foreign.

The things to think about while doing squats are NONE of the things you think about to do pliés.

The things to focus on in lunges are NONE of the things I use my legs for in .

And lifting a bar while lying down was absolutely nothing like doing “airplane” with my children.

It. Was. Weird.

I felt awkward.
I felt derpy.
I felt self conscious, and part of me was waiting for someone to pop out with some kind of Mean Girl quip and destroy my wobbly courage.

And I did it anyway.
(99% thanks to having a super supportive coach 😉 THANK YOU EMILY )

Now I can hardly wait to get back in!

I’ve had many many people on my table who had never had a massage before, and honestly they’re some of my favorites. 🥰
Because I GET it- massage is weird!

It’s new!
You’re not sure what to do with your arms!
Do you say stuff or stay quiet?
Is it going to hurt? Is that good or bad?
Do we have to listen to Enya?
(No. Never. It’s never Enya.)

Massage can be foreign and derpy and all the weird new feelings.
AND it can the best new thing you’ve tried in ages. 💆🏻‍♀️💆🏼💚

You know what I’m talking about! Sure, we don’t *want* the equipment to break, but damn if it’s not a right of passage to break a band or two over time. Have you ever had it happen??
happened to break this band doing monster walks— both seasonally appropriate AND badass if I do say so myself!
