2024 Frozen Rose Final Results

What a fun day on the golf course. I would like to thank HJ and the Rose City Golf Club for hosting us. Together we were able to raise $1083 for the Oregon Food Bank. Not bad for year one. Thank you to everyone who came out to play and support a good cause. We can’t wait to see you next year!

** REGISTRATION OPENS FRIDAY, JAN 12 @ 6PM PST**

Welcome back to the Rose City Golf Course for the Inaugural Frozen Rose. We have partnered with RCGC to create an annual charity event to help support the Oregon Food Bank. We will be donating $10 from everyone's entry fee, along with all proceeds from the raffle. Plus, RCGC has generously agreed to match our donation!

This is a 1 day event with 2 rounds of 18 holes. Each group will have 4 players and 2 golf carts. There will be two ghost groups for a max of 80 players & 40 carts. We will be playing the same course that we have previously played.

Tournament Central will be in the Rose City Grill & Clubhouse. They will have food and drink specials available to purchase all day.

There will be a players meeting before round 1 to go over rules, hole assignments, and hand out the keys to the carts. We will do a shuffle during the lunch break and assign new groups/holes/carts before round 2.

There will not be any extra carts available to rent. The west side/front 9 of the course is still open and they need carts available for their ball golfers.

Registration is $100 for all divisions
$10 of the registration fee goes to the Oregon Food Bank
$50 of the registration fee goes to the city for the 2 rounds and a cart
$40 of the registration fee goes toward payout by division
(if there are 20 in your division, your division pot is $800)

No player pack, no trophies - everyone plays for cash. Payouts will be top 3 or top 5 only and it will be based on your division size. Payouts will be done through PayPal.

There will be an ace pot. However, if there are no aces, then the ace pot will be donated to the Oregon Food Bank.

We will be setting up the course early in the morning so feel free to come out and warm up before the round starts, but the course will only be playable the day of the event (no practice rounds).

8am - Round One Tee Off
11am - 12:30pm - Lunch
12:30pm - Player Meeting
1pm - Round Two Tee Off
4:30pm - Awards and Raffle

Inaugural Frozen Rose is a Disc golf tournament in Portland, Oregon beginning February 4, 2024 and hosted by Rose City Disc Golf.

After talking with the city and the course, we will unfortunately not be able to play our summer series in 2021. With the extreme rise in rounds being played due to the pandemic the course is booked until 7pm daily. Golfers pay $50 for greens fee with cart for twilight rounds compared to the $15 we would pay so the math is simple. We are making plans for a winter event where we can debut the new 18 hole layout on the front 9, and hopefully close the entire golf course for a day so we can play both courses. I am happy for our the success of our friends and look forward to what we can do here in the future.

Brian Cole and I have completed the new 18 hole layout on the front 9 holes at Rose City Disc Golf course. We hope to debut the course this summer if all goes well, maybe even for next month's event. We still have some things to figure out but more info will follow. Here is a sneak peak of David Munk on hole 17 - OB pond, OB green on the right, OB green behind the basket. Tomorrow is the last week of RCGC DBs...Here we go!!!

I want to start by saying thank you to everyone who has come out to play and for supporting our gracious partner, the Rose City Golf Club. A very special thank you to Hank and HJ for opening up their course to us. And of course, a huge thank you to Brian Cole for being there with me from the start - course design, the SLOSH, all the meetings that led to this league, set up and tear down every week. It has been a grind, but we pulled it off - now let's get those anchors in the ground.

The top 20 are set and confirmed. There were a couple ties so for the tiebreaker we used the number of weeks played this summer. Whoever played more weeks got the higher seed.

*** Registration is from 4:30-5:15pm / start at 5:30 ***

Registration is only $21 this week - there is no $1 towards finals since this is the finals. We will still collect $1 for ace pot one last time. Ace pot is at $577. If no one hits an ace the pot will be split - half to the top 20 finals teams payout, half to the rest of us playing a regular weekly (that's $300+ added to each payout).

The finals pot is at $602. The top 20 players making up the 10 teams playing for the finals pot will have their weekly $5 go to their own payout. That means an additional $100 will be added to their payout (20 players x $5) plus a possible $300+ from the ace pot makes for a potential $1000 pot!! Top 5 teams get paid.

With 20 spots going to the top 20 in points, that leaves 60 spots left for the rest of us to play one last week. Our $5 will stay with our payout, plus half the ace pot if there are no aces, means we have the potential for a $600 payout for the top 5 teams!

Only 2 weeks left to come out to play the Rose City Golf Course! Due to a very special guest this week, registration will be EXTENDED today until 5:15pm and we will start the round at 5:30. Scott Keasey from DGA flew up here to play our event today. Please come out to help me thank him. Without Scott and Farina at DGA loaning us their awesome new Mach VIIs, we wouldn't have been able to pull this off!!
