Today, we began production of our self-defense video series. This series is designed to encompass efficient and effective techniques, which are reasonably simple to apply, in response to many typical attack scenarios. This particular system of threat response incorporates skill sets from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Lakan Arnis, Western Boxing, Muay Thai, and the universally hard-wired human instinct to survive. We base this series on the assumption that the viewer currently possesses fundamental skills in some areas of the constituent martial arts, or intends to do so, concurrent to the video instruction. The first video in the series addresses women's self-defense, with the focus on utilization of the dress, skirt, or skort as equalizers in common predatory attacks. After careful and intensive study of this video, Ladies, you really will be dressed to kill. :-)

Everybody who is still tuning into this page, I talked to coach Troy yesterday. He is looking to get some training in next week and access to the gym. He wants to find a time people are available/who interested to roll. Leave a comment or message me and see if we cannot give Troy a work out. He is over due for a Third Eye beatDOWN!

Hello everyone,

This is Tym here. With a very heavy heart I have to announce, that do to overwhelming family emergency, Third Eye Jiu-Jitsu is tapping out. Troy is focussing all his energy on his immediately family and no longer will be able to teach classes and run the school. Personally I would like to thank Troy for the knowledge and love that he has shared with everyone he has come into contact with. I have never trained somewhere so inviting, in such a loving spirit. I met Troy and the Third Eye family a few weeks after I moved to Portland and they are the significant reason that Portland instantly felt like home. A little over a years worth of training will have a lifetime of impact.

For all the love and support Troy has provided the Portland Martial Arts community, it is time to give it back. Close friends know what he is going through and I ask that you be there for him in any way you can.

I will leave this page up for a few days to help keep people informed, answer question, and help pass any messages along. After that, the page, like the school, will be closed.
