A meeting is scheduled for this evening at 7pm, and we have received multiple inquiries about our membership procedures. For potential members, we are pleased to provide an overview of the membership process. Attend any meeting where any and all are welcome. Meetings typically last 30-45 minutes and we have discussions about past and upcoming events, share ideas, and raise concerns. Following the meeting, prospective members can introduce themselves and, subject to approval by vote, pay the annual membership fee of $25.

House Bills 5801 and 5802 are expected to receive a hearing before the House Committee on May 20th. If passed these bills would allow commercial netting of walleye, lake trout, and yellow perch from Lakes Michigan and Huron (including Saginaw Bay).

Michigan’s Natural Resource Commission is expected to vote on possible changes to hunting regulations at their May 13th meeting this month.

Some of these changes are expected to include whether or not to only allow one buck per resident, a possible change to the date of opening day, a shortening of seasons, and more.
