Shop Highlights!!

Discover the latest updates and exciting developments at the shop!

The talented interns have been hard at work refurbishing bicycles to restock our inventory. Under the guidance of our experienced staff, they meticulously inspect every system to ensure each bike meets our rigorous safety standards before going on sale. 🎉🔧

In the service department, our newest team member, Thomas, recently completed a spoke replacement as part of a comprehensive tune-up. We take great pride in delivering high-quality service to ensure every rider can enjoy many safe miles on or off the road. 🚲🚵🏽

We are also excited to announce the addition of two Remco electric stands to our service department. These stands significantly improve our workflow and ergonomics when handling heavy e-bikes. A sincere thank you to Remco Tools for their continued support of our shop. 💪😁

We took an unforgettable ride with p:ear Youth and community partners at Lacamas Park! 🚴‍♂️ For many, it was their first time mountain biking, and the excitement was unforgettable. The rec. program at and bike works by p:ear foster growth, learning, and community through physical activity, teamwork, and mentorship.

A huge thanks to for providing their demo bikes for us to shred on and for helping us create lasting memories with these incredible young people. We appreciate from .pnw, who was there to support us and make sure we all had fun. Stay tuned for our next adventure on two wheels!

Sometimes caffeine doesn’t cut it and we need to get our buzz another way… this time with Chris King Precision Components components.

We’re grateful to have partners like Chris King who support our mission to remove barriers for p:ear youth as they navigate out of poverty through the p:ear works job training program. Stay tuned to see how partnerships like these help elevate our custom bike builds and keep us pedaling forward.

Meeting our team!

Nico (he/they) is the new shop manager of bike works by p:ear and a new resident of Portland, Oregon. Nico is passionate about cycling, mechanics, community engagement, and being a helping hand. Outside of being a bike mechanic, Nico loves spending time with their spouse and pets and going on long tandem bike adventures.

Antonio (he/him) has been at Bike Works by p:ear for four years. Formerly the bike shop manager, Antonio is now working in community engagement, strengthening our workforce development program, and managing the shop's social media.

Tarv (they/them) has been with the team for 2 years. They are the expert wheel builder and bike mechanic that isn't afraid to take on the most obscure projects that roll into the bike shop.

Ursa (they/them) has been on the team for over two years. They are the Everybody Bikes! program coordinator. Through Everybody Bikes! and in partnership with other non-profits, Ursa refurbishes 300 bikes per year and delivers them to our community partners.

Thanks to everyone that came out for Sunday Parkways! We had a great day of wrenching and meeting fellow bikers. Doing events like this gets us out of the shop, hanging out with our community, and connecting over our shared love of bicycles. Come see us at the bike shop. 🚲🚲

Looking for a family-friendly, car-free bike ride? The annual Sunday Parkways for East Portland is coming up on June 28th! Meandering through 4 local parks and lots of local vendors, entertainment, and activities. Come visit us on June 28th from 11 am to 4 pm at Parklane Park in East County during the annual Sunday Parkways event. We will be there to provide bike support for cyclists who need simple repairs as they enjoy the 4-mile out-and-back route.

Huge thanks to Sean and for partnering with us on this one-of-a-kind frame for the 2025 p:ear blossoms gala. This collaboration between Destroy Bikes and bike works by p:ear, brought together craftsmanship and community.

Built locally in Portland, creates hand-built frames that are as much works of art as they are bikes, and we’re grateful Sean shared his talent and time to help make this special build possible.
