Saturday 4/4/26 we had a great Aikido seminar taught by Vu Ha Sensei from Boston Aikikai. Ha sensei taught two Aikido classes and then a weapons class of bokken vs bokken kumitachi. Afterwards we had a party at the dojo with friends and family. We all enjoyed lobster rolls, turkey, chicken and falafel wraps, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, Wrap City potato chips, pastrami smoked salmon, lemon and garlic chicken wings, two chocolate cakes and then finally a cognac toast to Claude Berthiaume Sensei’s memory. Claude Sensei lives on in our hearts and in our training. Thank you to everyone who came and helped with the seminar and special thanks to Vu Ha Sensei for teaching

Portland Aikido mourns the death of Claude Berthiaume 8th dan shihan chief instructor of Aikido de la Montagne, Montreal, Quebec,member of USAF Technical Committee and Technical Director of Kiyiokaze Iaido Federation. Claude sensei came to our dojo annually for over 20 years to teach an Aikido and Iaido seminar and to administer Aikido dan tests and Iaido tests. We are grateful to Claude sensei for his teaching, his guidance, his support and his friendship through the years. His spirit lives on in our daily training.

Saturday April 4th we will have an Aikido seminar at our dojo taught by Vu X. Ha shihan, chief instructor of Boston Aikikai Saturday.

Below is the seminar flyer. Classes will be 11am to 4pm with no lunch break. Snacks will be provided. At 4:30pm there will be a
party at the dojo. Friends and family are welcome to the party.

Saturday 11/1/25 we had an in-house seminar taught by all our teachers. Afterwards we had a
delicious potluck meal at the dojo with sandwiches, smoked salmon, sushi, Wrap City potato
chips…….(to die for!), pizza, peanut noodles, cheeses, homemade spanakopita, brownies,
cookies, Maine Macoun apples and brownies. Below are the techniques that each teacher
