The Mnoke Prairie section of the Marquette Greenway Trail is still under construction.

We are in direct communication with the Indiana Dunes National Park Service, and they've asked everyone to please stay off the Mnoke Prairie Trail segment for now. A bit more construction work needs to be completed, and this section, along with areas of the new Calumet Trail, may remain closed for another month or two.

The national park service will keep us updated as Trail sections officially open to the public, and we'll pass those updates right along to you!

Thanks for your patience while the construction crews finish up. Stay tuned!

Trail Cleanup Day

Since steady rain is on the forecast for today, Bike Stop Dunes will be closed for rentals. Instead, we're throwing on our rain gear and heading out to clear storm debris this morning!

Yesterday, we cleared the section from Cowles Bog, across Dunes Hwy, up to the downed tree behind the National Park Headquarters. Today, we're tackling the Porter Brickyard Trail in the Chellberg Farm / Bailly Homestead area, working the section from Howe Road toward Park HQ.

(Note: The large downed tree behind Park HQ will require chainsaws and will be handled by the National Park Service.)

Want to lend a hand? Grab your rain gear, bring a rake, and come join us on the trail today! We should be out there around 9:00 a.m.

2 + hours in a hot car, or 10 minutes on two wheels?

Look closely at this photo which is typical of a summer beach day at the Indiana Dunes. From this exact spot, most of these cars are looking at over a two-hour wait just to get through the gate at Indiana Dunes State Park, and that is if the parking lots don't fill up.

Meanwhile, our riders are already relaxing on the beach or inside the park exploring the trails.

Renting a bike is the ultimate dunes cheat code. You don’t just skip the traffic, you change the entire experience:

✅ Access the Beach in 10 -15 Minutes: Skip waiting in long entrance lines and parking nightmare entirely.

✅ Explore the Park 5x Faster: Cruise from beach to trailhead and discover hidden gems of the park system 5x faster than walking and skip the hassle of driving.

✅ Front-Row Parking: Roll right up to the sand or your favorite trailhead without having to circle hot asphalt parking lots searching for open spaces.

✅ See the Unseen: Easily access the bike trails and discover the unique beauty of this park that most visitors never see.

Stop waiting. Start riding. In our world, the transportation is the adventure.

Swing by the Visitor Center and grab your ride from Bike the Dunes. We also have cargo trailers that hook up to our fleet so you can haul your coolers, beach chairs, and other gear.

So grab your friends or family, visit Bike the Dunes, and begin your Indiana Dunes adventure today!
