The Birdie Challenge, hosted on Wednesday, October 14th at Mohawk Country Club has become the keystone fundraising event for our PGA REACH NENY Foundation where we will be playing 45 holes of golf in a scramble format in groups of 3 from various courses throughout the section to earn as many donations as possible in pledges (flat donations or pledges per birdie) in a fun day of golf to give back to the game.
PGA REACH NENY is the established 501(c)3 charitable foundation of our NENY PGA Section and its stated mission is to positively impact lives through the game of golf in three main areas: youth and junior golf endeavors, military and veterans via our PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) and inclusion in the game with various programming and offerings in all of these.
The support generated through the last 2 Birdie Challenge events has also helped with a new give back directly to local area families with junior golfers with $10,000 in Youth Grant Funding. This financial assistance of $500 to nearly 20 families helped them offset the costs incurred while their junior pursues this fantastic game. This initiative is a great example of how the funds raised through the Birdie Challenge can make a direct and meaningful impact on young golfers and their families.

It has allowed him to participate in more events and continue developing his skills without the financial burden limiting his opportunities.
