πŸ€ 3-on-3 Night at the Park πŸ€

One of our first big projects as a club was updating the courts at Collipp-Worden Park in 2018. We have hosted different youth camps on the court over the years which were a lot of fun, and tonight we took the first step in one of our long time goals by hosting a 3-on-3 night at the park.

These PBHC players deserve to be recognized for all the hard work they put in over the summer in our Summer Skill Workouts. Many of these athletes balance multiple sports and still found time to attend our Tues/Thurs gym sessions throughout June and July, wanting to improve on their skills. We thought a great way to celebrate them and end the summer workouts was to host a 3-on-3 night for our players in grades 3-8.

Players participated in multiple games and were on multiple teams over the course of the evening. We had a special visit from Varsity Head Coach, Daniel Harkins, who was able to speak with the players after the games, encouraging them to keep a ball in their hands and continue to better themselves.

The night ended with some pizza and custard. A big thank you to our local Pizza Hut and Culver’s for investing in our youth. 🀍

Great work tonight hoopers! We loved watching you have fun on the court. Enjoy your fall sports and it won’t be long until we’re back on the hardwood. πŸ€πŸ‘

πŸ€ WARRIORS BOYS BASKETBALL DEFEATS WESTFIELD 74-67 πŸ€

Portage BBB traveled to Westfield last night for a tough non-conference matchup and battled from start to finish. The Warriors trailed by four at the half (26–30), but came out on fire in the second half, playing their best team basketball of the season.

Portage poured in 48 second-half points and finished strong to earn their first win of the year, 74–67! πŸ’ͺ

πŸ”₯ Top Performers

Brody Kayartz had his best game of the season, leading all scorers with 24 points, while adding 8 rebounds and a team-high 6 assists.

Michael Nachreiner followed with 20 points and recorded his third double-double of the year with 12 rebounds.

Donovan Navone delivered a huge second half, scoring 13 points (all after the break) and dishing out 5 assists.

A complete team effort, big energy, and great ex*****on when it mattered most. Way to get it done, Warriors!

And a big shout out to our student section who made the trip and brought the energy! πŸ§‘πŸ–€πŸ€

Great tournament hosting 4-8th grades. Our teams had a successful weekend on the hardwood.

A special shoutout to our 8th graders that had their final home tournament of their PBHC careers going 3-0 on the weekend. Their support of cheering on the younger grades was unmatched.

Thank you to all the volunteers, your help is greatly appreciated.

Good luck to our teams as they move on to tournament play. πŸ€πŸ§‘πŸ–€
