Walker's Taekwondo

Walker's Taekwondo Offering classes in Taekwondo, Hapkido, Cardio Kickboxing, and now Gongkwon Yusul! Mike's passion for Tae Kwon Do is readily apparent to all of his students.

Walker's opened in August 2000 and is owned and operated by Master Mike Kadrovach, who is Kukkiwon certified 5th Dan black belt. He began studying Tae Kwon Do at the age of 25, and has been studying and practicing in the Portage area for over 19 years. His goals for his students are: (1) to be better than himself and (2) to strengthen their spirits with the "I can" way of thinking. "I can't" at Wa

lker's, are replaced by "I'll try." At Walker's, the Ji Do Kwon form of Tae Kwon Do is taught. Ji Do Kwon is one of the major Tae Kwon Do associations, which is sanctioned by the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) at the Kukkiwon in South Korea. Tae Kwon Do has grown as a unique Korean self-defense art for about 20 centuries. Today, the popularity and enthusiasm for Tae Kwon Do are not only domestic but worldwide because of the dominant superiority of Tae Kwon Do over any other kind of self-defense art in the world. The history of Tae Kwon Do proves that it is far more than a self-defense method. Not only does it encourage positive moral values such as trust and courage, but Tae Kwon Do develops self confidence and respect.

Last weekend, Master Rick, Master Caitlin, and Kyosanim Stephanie attended a US Gongkwon Yusul Seminar in Columbus, Ohio. It was an exceptional opportunity to train with the creator of Gongkwon Yusul, Master Kang, as well as many phenomenal instructors from around the globe. Unfortunately, Master Mike informed me that he will no longer be able to attend his retirement party on Sunday, May 31st due to unforeseen circumstances. Though we are devastated by this news, we are so grateful to everyone who helped with organizing, setting up, and volunteering for this event.

Instead we have decided to reschedule his party! Mike's last day at Walker's will be on Thursday, May 28th. All classes this day will be CANCELLED. Instead, we will host his party at Walker's starting at 5pm. We will still have food catered. Appetizers and desserts are welcome (strict no nuts policy). Though smaller, we are hoping this will be a nice send off before he enjoys retirement.

Of note, this party is a complete surprise to him. Please do not mention this to him. We are hoping the weather will be nice and we can open up the back with tables and chairs. Feel free to bring lawn chairs. You are welcome stop by anytime, though I anticipate Mike will 'irish goodbye' by 6pm.
