North Shore Yacht Club North Shore Yacht Club - Western Long Island Sound Rich in history, the North Shore Yacht Club was established in 1871 as the New York Canoe Club. Happy sailing!

It is the oldest yacht club on Long Island. Its fleet consists almost exclusively of sailboats, ranging from small one-designs to ocean-going vessels. We boast a diverse membership that includes experienced cruisers, blue water racers, and new sailors. The Club offers a well-sheltered mooring area protected by land on three sides, with quick and easy access to the Sound. The North Shore Yacht Club

is for people who love sailing, with membership fees that are a fraction of the cost of other yacht clubs and marinas. Members enjoy an active social calendar without all the extraneous costs other clubs charge for facilities little used by sailors.

The North Shore Yacht Club, the oldest yacht club on Long Island Sound, welcomes boaters of all kinds. Whether you own a sail or powerboat or would like to become a boat share member, first-year discounted memberships are very affordable.

With excellent launch service, a clubhouse and deck that overlook beautiful Manhasset Bay in Port Washington, and a well-protected mooring field that is the closest to Long Island Sound, the North Shore Yacht Club is an excellent choice for people who love to be on the water. We are looking for a Level 1 Junior Sailing instructor to run our 8 week program this summer, 2024. We run 4 two week programs using Optis, Picos, and Lasers. Besides the full time employment for those 8 weeks we offer adult sailing lessons and other maintenance opportunities for additional hourly rates. Our salary is very competitive. Ideally we would like the instructor to start in early June. Our junior program starts June 24th. We are also interested in a junior sailing instructor apprentice for the 8 weeks.
