Port Washington Yacht Club The purpose of the Port Washington Yacht Club, Inc. F. Schanen Jr., as an organization to work for improvements to the the then dangerous Port Washington harbor.

The Port Washington Yacht Club was established in 1956 by a group of pleasure boaters headed by Harbor Master Alfred Freese and Wm. In 1972, an old bathhouse located on the beach one block north of the marina, was leased from the city and converted to the present clubhouse. It has a b

ar and kitchen facilities, a lounge and large social area with dining tables and a dance floor. The building was recently purchased from the city, and is fully owned by its members.

More than 30 sailboats will race from Muskegon across Lake Michigan to Port Washington on Friday for the 40th annual Clipper Cup Sailboat Race. Come down to the harbor to watch the boats finish late afternoon into the evening. (Check PWYC page for updates from the race course for when to expect the fleet.)

On Saturday, join the sailors at Veteran’s Park from 5 to 10 pm for a summer BBQ and live music by the Shad Lads. Public invited!
