🔊 YOUTH DANCE CLASS incoming to Madrona!!

HIP HOP MINI, a 4-part series, with Mary Breckel! Wednesday afternoons starting October 28 through November 18, 1:30-2:15pm.

Wet and windy season is right around the corner. Help your kiddo stay active indoors during the lull between fall and winter activities.

This dance class series welcomes your little mover to shake their groove thing and build body confidence, socialize, and get their wiggles out in an upbeat, inclusive environment. Each class includes a group warm-up, engaging movement games, and finishes with hip hop style choreography where dance steps combine together into a routine that builds musicality, coordination, and attention skills. The series is designed for ages 5-9, but younger kids (3-4) with active parental supervision are welcome to register. The last class concludes with a brief in-studio showcase celebrating all the students have learned over the month.

*Kids with diverse abilities are encouraged to register! Please let us know if your child has specific mobility, sensory, or other needs to maximize our ability to plan inclusively.

Cost: Early Bird rate for series $64 (by October 1st), regular registration full series $74, single class drop-in (pending availability) $20. Partial or full scholarships are available.

IN SOLIDARITY AND HOPE: a six-week committed series with Anneli Molin-Skelton on Wednesday evenings at Madrona MindBody Institute, October 14 - November 18, 6:00-8:00pm

In times of stress and strife, chaos and cacophony, we often become ungrounded and unable to align with our own center. This loss of embodiment heightens feelings of separation, which causes alienation, animosity and antagonism. This empty place is a breeding ground for despair and a sense that our lives are without possibilities: to become completely disheartened.

This is an invitation to stand together, to move together and to pray together through the somatic practices of Open Floor. Let’s explore and expand acts of solidarity through movement and stillness, sound and silence, ease and effort, allowing and resisting. Let’s enrich and enliven our fields of hope through movement, poetry, writing, and our shared collective dreams. Let’s join the great weaving through the connective tissue of our humanness. Let’s put our voices together as a resilient body choir and find our song through our bodies.

This is an Open Floor Movement series. Open Floor movement practice uses universal principles of movement to anchor us in ourselves and our lives. It is a mindful dance inquiry; a place for creative focus and loving attention through movement. No previous dance experience needed, and all are welcome.

Price:
$140 for the series

Open a jar? Lift a toddler? Push a vacuum? Get a grip!
Our hands, wrists and arms are used for almost every waking task — eating, dressing, driving, computing … loving. Studies show we may use our upper limbs thousands of times each HOUR for micro-adjustments, reaches and grasps. Healthcare practitioners consider grip strength an indispensable bio marker for overall health, and training to keep our hands and arms strong is so essential. Come learn about arms, wrists and hands — and practice ways to improve their functionality — at this fun class/workshop on Friday, September 25, from 1:30-3:30pm.

Taught by Certified Senior Fitness Instructor and Yoga Therapist Renée Klein, this is Madrona's next-to-the-last workshop in the 2026 YogaLab series, so don’t miss it!

All are welcome, no previous experience necessary.
