✨Instructor Spotlight - Meet Ms. Jordan ✨

Jordan began dancing at age three, and her body made her work for it. Hypermobility and hyperextension meant she had to learn how to move with joints that didn’t always cooperate — and a dislocated kneecap in high school drove that lesson home. Having learned to move safely, she can now spot those same patterns in her students, and she builds strengthening and injury prevention into her classes to protect them.

She learned to dance at Blackwood Studios in Dade City, Florida, under Miss Sally Blackwood, a former Joffrey Ballet company dancer, who trained her extensively and taught her not just how to dance but how to teach.

Jordan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Studies from the University of South Florida, where she studied Ballet, Modern, Jazz, and African Diaspora.

With over ten years of teaching experience, she has taught students ages 3 to 70+ and choreographed award-winning pieces for competitions and shows. Jordan holds the line on technique, and she’s also the first to laugh when a combination goes sideways. She’s friendly, she’s human, and her classes are fun. Her philosophy is: every body can dance, so everybody can dance.

Her goal is to inspire movement and creativity that goes beyond dance steps, in a safe, inclusive space where everyone feels welcome. She’s thrilled to join Kinesi Dance Complex, whose values and passion mirror her own. Come move and groove!

A little about Ms. Alexa's yoga journey:
Alexa was first drawn to yoga as a way to recharge and reconnect with herself while balancing full-time work and raising two young children.

Alexa completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training at Lotus Pond Center for Yoga and Health in 2025 and is currently pursuing her 500-hour certification. She is passionate about making yoga accessible and welcoming to people of all ages and abilities.

Her classes blend thoughtful, alignment-based guidance with creative movement to help students build strength, balance, and flexibility while cultivating a deeper connection with themselves, their community, and nature. In family yoga, students can expect plenty of play, music, and opportunities for kids to explore breath and movement through curiosity and fun.
