Before this (not) incident spreads like wildfire I am getting ahead of it
we had a young lady and her significant other come to the range with service dog. They shot for a bit when the owner said our policy is no dogs or children under 12
I politely told her that the dog couldn’t go back in the range she could leave it in the lobby or take turns shooting with her significant other which is the only accommodations have to do per ADA
She continued to shoot with the dog in the lobby she is spreading rumors online that we kicked her out
We had other customers here that can voice for me that o did no such thing
So for anyone’s reference that needs it

Policy Overview:
Firing Line Gun Range is committed to providing full and equal enjoyment of our facilities to individuals with disabilities in compliance with Title Ill of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Fully trained service animals (dogs) are welcome in all public, retail, lobby, and classroom areas of our facility.
Live-Fire Line Safety Exclusion:
In accordance with 28 CFR§ 36.208 (Direct Threat) and 28 CFR § 36.301(b)
(Legitimate Safety Requirements), Firing Line Gun Range restricts service animals from entering the live-fire shooting bays or the firing line.
This restriction is based on an individualized assessment of objective safety risks inherent to the live-fire environment, including:
1. Direct Threat to Human Safety: The unpredictable nature of an animal's startle or flight response to sudden muzzle blasts and acoustic reverberation poses an immediate, catastrophic distraction and physical hazard to shooters handling loaded fi****ms.
2. Physical Environmental Hazards: The live-fire zone exposes animals to immediate physical harm from flying hot brass shell casings and toxic levels of heavy metal (airborne and surface lead dust). As well as decibel ratings that can exceed 150DB
Reasonable Accommodation Alternative:
Per ADA mandate, if a service animal is restricted from the live-fire area, staff will not exclude the handler. Firing Line Gun Range will offer the individual the opportunity to use the shooting lanes while providing a safe alternative for the animal by allowing a companion to handle the dog in the lobby, or providing a secure, quiet crate area away from the firing line.
Disability rights are civil rights. From voting to parking, the ADA is a law that protects people with disabilities in many areas of public life.
