Pelicans don’t store fish in their pouch which is a common misconception, they do however use it to catch fish. Immediately after draining the water from their pouch, they swallow their catch. A pelican can eat up to four pounds of fish per day and its pouch can hold 2-3 times more water than their stomachs can 😳⁠

Have you visited Disappearing Island in Ponce Inlet?

This island appears and disappears as the tides change. It's located where Ponce Inlet and New Smyrna meet. At 3/4 mile, this sandy spot is a recreational boating paradise. The best part, you can see Florida’s Tallest Lighthouse, the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse (where we're located), from the sandbar. It can act as your guide back to us at the end of the day :)

FAQ Time: "Do I need a valid boaters license in order to rent a boat from you?"⁠

Answer: Anyone born after 197 needs to have a Florida Boaters LIcense. This can be completed online and it lasts forever. Anyone born before 1988 is fine as long as they have a driver's license. However, boating experience is required either way. ⁠
