🚣♀️ Throwback Thursday: A River Tradition Since 1977 🌊
Before GPS, smartphones, and social media, there was a simple idea: get people out on the river and create unforgettable memories.
Silver Canoe was founded in 1977 by Jack and Diane March with just 12 aluminum canoes, one van, and a dream. What started as a small family operation launching trips from Pond Eddy, NY, quickly grew alongside the booming popularity of paddlesports on the Upper Delaware River.
Over the years, Silver Canoe expanded from canoeing into whitewater rafting, kayaking, and tubing, helping generations of families, friends, and adventure seekers experience the beauty of the Delaware River. By the late 1990s, the company had grown through acquisitions and expanded its fleet, eventually becoming one of the premier river outfitters in the Tri-State area.
Today, operated by the Crouthamel family, Silver Canoe proudly manages a fleet of more than 300 vessels, continuing the tradition of outdoor adventure that began nearly five decades ago. The dream is still based off of that simple idea.
From first-time paddlers to lifelong river lovers, we’re honored to have been part of so many River memories. 💛
