🇺🇸 POW/MIA REMEMBRANCE CEREMONY

Join us this Sunday at 2:30 PM for ceremonies at the Punta Gorda Vietnam Wall as motorcycles arrive from the Southwest Florida POW ride. Their ride starts at 9 and they will se us all at THE WALL at 2:30PM.

Marine Corps League Detachment 756 Charlotte County will present the Colors, American Legion Port Charlotte Post 110 will perform a rifle salute. Mayor Lux and other guest speakers will join us.

Come stand with us as we honor our POWs, remember our missing, and reaffirm our promise: YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN. 🇺🇸

There’s something deeply moving about seeing a funeral procession adorned with Marine Corps emblems. It’s a powerful reminder of the brotherhood we share, but also of a fate we all know awaits us one day. There’s comfort in knowing that when our time comes, our Marines will be standing watch. Today, we had the solemn honor of standing alongside our fellow Marines from Tampa to pay our final respects to Brother Marine Jerry Swanson. A heartfelt thank you to the Patriot Riders' of America, Inc. Chapter One Florida who escorted us through the rain on their motorcycles with unwavering dedication. To stand beside a Marine and his family when they need us most is the very meaning of Semper Fidelis—Always Faithful. Our commitment to one another does not end when our service does. Once a Marine, always a Marine.

Your watch is over, Marine. Rest easy, Jerry. We have the watch from here.
