Change in Progress 🏀🏀 | One goal of the Parks and Recreation Department is to create opportunities and fun for the community. With that goal in mind, we are about to see some upgrades coming to area parks!

One of those upgrades includes the installation of a basketball court at El Vista Park! The foundation has been laid and we are excited for it to serve the community once it is completed!

There’s still time to party 🫧🫧!

The Port Arthur Parks and Recreation Department is having their Foam Party today at Barbara Jacket Park.

People are already there having a great time! They’ll be there until 5 p.m., so feel free to join the fun if you haven’t already.

Kona Ice is there, and so is The Nakid Foundation, a Port Arthur group that mentors young girls and “gives them to space to be themselves.”

Looking for summer fun? From spray parks to camps, the City of Port Arthur Parks and Recreation Department has you covered!

Registration for Summer Camp 2026: Camp Force opens Monday, July 6, 2026, at 7:45 a.m. at the Amos J. Evans Multipurpose Building located at 1308B 9th Avenue.

Registration is limited to the first 50 participants, so be sure to arrive early.

Camp Force:
📅 July 6–31, 2026
⏰ Monday–Friday, 7:45 a.m.– 4:45 p.m.
👧 5–11 years old
💲 $20 per week

From exciting activities and games, to making new friends, Camp Force is the perfect way for children to stay active and have fun this summer.

City of Port Arthur sprayparks are closed today in light of the weather. The pool at the Recreation Center is set to open as scheduled at noon, however, the pool may close if weather conditions deteriorate.

Students from Port Arthur ISD had the opportunity to beat the heat on Friday with a visit to the Barbara Jacket Spray Park.

The Port Arthur Parks & Recreation Department officially kicked off the 2026 Summer Aquatic Season by opening the City's outdoor pools and spray parks. Looking for something to do this summer? Come cool off with us!

The following spray parks will remain open through August 9:

🌊Barbara Jacket Spray Park

Tuesday - Saturday | 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Sunday | 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

🛟Lakeview Spray Park

Mosley Pool is currently closed until further notice, but we will keep you updated!
