So proud to officially join the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce!
Our first community event promoting Special Olympics Orcas teams was a hugh success. Thank you for the warm welcome and encouragement! We're looking forward to growing, giving back, and being active members of our amazing Clallam County community.

THANK YOU EVERYONE who participated in the golf tournament, volunteered at or before the golf tournament, donated money or items and so many who spent countless hours preparing for it.
And especially thank you, Mary Jane for graciously allowing the Clallam County Orcas to be the recipients of the proceeds from this event that honors Bob.

100% of the money raised will stay here in Clallam County. It allows our athletes to participate in Special Olympics sports by paying for uniforms, equipment, transportation, food, lodging in some cases, venues for practice where needed, and other expenses I can't think of. The program is run entirely by volunteers.

Our bowling season will begin in August
We'll have practice games beginning on
Wednesday, August 20th from 3:30 - 5:00 or
Saturday, August 23 from 10-11:30
At Laurel Lanes in Port Angeles
There is no cost to athletes

If you plan to bowl - please let me know

Special Olympics Washington is requiring that all required forms be filled out by August 15th. We've been told that they will lock our team that day and they will not add anyone else - so please get that done if needed.

I'll be sending emails to those who I'm able to see, in need of any work.
If your medical questionnaire expires before November 15th, it must be renewed by the August 15th date.

The Bob Cup includes a golf tournament and a barbecue/auction.
100% of the money will stay in Clallam County for use by the Orcas.
It will be held this coming Saturday, July 26th
PLEASE COME TO THE BARBECUE
and bring your friends . . .

The barbecue starts at 2:00 pm and costs $20

The Auction includes
2 roundtrip tickets to anywhere Alaska Airlines flies

CONGRATULATIONS to our athletes who competed in the Spring Games. We had golfers and swimmers.

It was a good weekend, even though it was VERY COLD and raining hard while our golfers were on the course.

This Summer we are having recreational Bocce, Golf and Softball. Send a message if you need more information.

UPDATES: The city informed Jim that Monday's are no longer available for softball practice so practice will move to Thursdays. Softball practice begins on Thursday, June 5th at Elks Field 533 W 14th St, Port Angeles from 4-5 On June 26th, practice will be moved to Shane Field, same time.

Bocce will also begin next week on Tuesday, June 3rd at the Elks Field 533 W 14th St, Port Angeles 4:30 - 5:30

Golf will begin on Friday, June 13th from 2-4 and will continue on Fridays at that time until August 16th. We will have both pairs golf and skills No Practice on July 11, July 25, and August 8th Our invitational will be on August 5th at Dungeness.

Many of you will need to update your medical. This is required every year since you no longer have to have a physical.

Bowling will begin in early to mid August this year.

We are planning to offer Orcas shirts, hoodies, zip up sweatshirts and hopefully jackets, that you can purchase. We'll have all the information ready when bowling starts. This will not be a fundraiser for us - just an opportunity to have a new Orcas shirt - it's been a lot of years since we've done this.

The Bob Cup Golf Tournament is the only fundraiser we have, because when successful, it provides all the money we need to run our program. It pays for uniforms, the bowling alley, transportation, local competitions, lunches for regional events, etc. This year the event will be held on Saturday, July 26th at the Cedars at Dungeness Golf Course in Sequim. We need help before the event and the day of the event, to make it run smoothly. Contact Wendy to volunteer.

I'm sorry to have to tell you that we won't be able to start softball this week. If and when we are able, I will let you know.

Jim (our great coach) has some unexpected conflicts that he's been recently made aware of. He does want to coach and hopefully he'll be able to sometime soon. I will keep you updated as I hear.

Special Olympics Washington's change in seasons has made Spring and Summer very difficult - not only for us but for most other programs throughout the state. I'm Hoping that they will change back next year!! I know they are feeling a lot of pressure to do so.

Softball will be starting next week on Thursday, April 3rd at the Elks Field 533 W 14th St, Port Angeles from 3:00 to 4:00.
Most likely it will change to a later time in early June.
There may be separate indoor batting practice every week as well.
