CARDBOARD BOAT RACE FAQs:
Q: How big are the boats?
A: You'll need to build a structure big enough for both team members to board & paddle it, but small enough to easily fit between lane lines in the lap pool!
Q: Am I too old/too young for the boat races?
A: Cardboard boat races are open to all ages! Children, teenagers, parents, grandparents, friends, etc. No one is too old!
Q: Do I need to bring my own materials or build my boat beforehand?
A: Cardboard, duct tape, and scissors will be provided.
Q: How can I sign up? How many people can be on a team?
A: Sign up in person at the front desk or over the phone (360) 775-2119. There are two people on a team, however, if you are a parent/other adult who wants to help your team in the building process, you are more than welcome to be a "pit crew" at no additional cost.
Q: Where should I check-in?
A: Please park on the "pool-side" near the main entrance to the pool. Boat-building will begin on SPARKside. You can walk around and check in with our special event supervisor at the SPARKs entrance! After the races and swim time is over, teams may exit out the "pool-side" doors. If your child is also enrolled in Date Night, they will return to the childcare side of the building with our Activity Leaders.
