Starting June 1st and running until the end of August, I'm going to host weekly kids' groups. Geared towards high school students, or possibly middle school students (middle school participation will be on a case-by-case basis). The girls will train together on Monday evenings and the boys will train together on Wednesday evenings. For now, the sessions are planned for 6 p.m. That time may change by 30 minutes either way. Parents will determine that once the roster is set, as I'm open to either time. The cost for the summer session is $350 per student. All students will be able to attend an "open gym" session on the Saturdays that I offer sparring. For open sessions, they will train independently while I oversee sparring upstairs. For those interested in sparring, I'll work with them on the "how-to" so they can get the extra work. Otherwise, they can train on the bags and weights during that time.
I'm gearing this towards kids because of my firm belief that ALL kids should know how to defend themselves. There's confidence in knowing you'll never be in a situation where you feel overmatched. Most boys will have to use it at some point. However, self-confidence will translate into all areas of life just as boxing conditioning improves all other sports and physical activities they participate in. For the girls, the importance is obvious. I have a daughter and I know that her knowing how to defend herself is at least as important as it is for my sons. In the summer session, they'll work out and train but they'll also learn effectively so that it's functional and fun.
If you're interested - reach out to me, I want to get rosters set up ASAP
