Man… this one stings a little. Knox has looked forward to the King of the Champs race for weeks. Going into day two, we felt good (really good) like we had a shot to do something special. The weekend started messy with lots of confusion around race layout and lineup hiccups, but once things got sorted, we thought we were rolling off 3rd for the big show…only to find out we were starting 4th once we got up to the grid. Still solid considering the format and level of competition.
Then things went downhill after that. Two wrecks before we even completed a lap, and Knox got caught in both. On the restart he got slightly out of the race groove and the field trained him, then he spun putting him to the tail. From there, it just unraveled and I can’t pinpoint why exactly. As a parent, that’s hard to watch and coach but that’s part of it. Some nights you’re on top of the world, and others remind you this sport doesn’t owe you a thing.
Big congrats to Logan on the win he ran a heck of a race and earned the unofficial hometown K3 hero crown 👑 One for the memory books!
Nasher got to race for fun this weekend and showed speed, but Dad just couldn’t piece tires together in the features. His results don’t reflect the driver he is but he’ll get that monkey off his back soon, I know it.
Even when it’s not our weekend, I’m still proud as hell of my boys. They still have a lot to learn and areas to grow, but still grinding, still showing up, and still giving their all. They may not be the crowd favorite, but they’ll always be mine.
Huge thanks to our sponsors who keep us rolling every weekend we appreciate you all more than you know!!! Big thanks to C2 Motorsports and Tyler for the tires all weekend, and every single one of you who supports us through the highs and lows. Couldn’t do it without you. 🏁
