What a weekend at the Midwest Race of Champions! 617 total entries and 19 in Nash’s class.

In true Delheimer fashion, we had to divide and conquer. MWROC landed on PDC weekend, and everyone knows Chris/Dad wasn’t missing that…so Mom loaded up and went racing.

I’d say it was a pretty good weekend.

Green Class: Qualified P6 and drove to P2. We were side-by-side with the leader at the checkered, and for a second I thought we had it! Came up just short, but what a race.

Green Pro: Qualified P11 and drove all the way to the front, leading most of the race. Unfortunately, my driver was way past his bedtime making ONE bobble and that’s all it took for our buddy Logan to sneak by with 3 to go, Nash ended with a solid P3 finish. Congrats Logan on the win! 🏁

Could not be more proud of this kid, two podiums at one of the biggest races of the year isn’t anything to hang your head about. This kid had a fast piece all weekend, raced his heart out, and keeps proving he belongs up front. Hoping both Nash and Knox can finish the season strong with a few more trips to victory lane.

A huge thank you to Trey Porter, Justin Lynch, and the entire team for all the help, hard work, and hospitality this weekend. We truly appreciate everything you did for Nash. I just wish we could’ve parked it in Victory Lane for all the effort you put in…man, we were close! Hopefully we’ll get the chance to do it again in the future.

K3 Race Recap 🏁

With pop-up showers in the forecast, we weren’t entirely convinced we’d get the show in. Walking through the gates, it felt like rain could start at any minute, but somehow we never saw a single drop.

Nash had a clean sweep, winning both heats and the feature, but Logan made him earn every lap of it. Those two raced hard, raced clean, and put on a great show from start to finish.

Knox had speed all night too. After a P3 in Heat 1, he was sitting P2 coming to the checkers in the 2nd heat when he saw a hole and went for it. With the top five running nose to tail, it was one of those split-second decisions that can make or break your night. This time it didn’t go his way. He wheel hopped, lost his groove, and a couple drivers slipped underneath him. That put him in the back for the feature, but he drove his way back to a solid P3 finish.

This class is an absolute dogfight. It’s stacked, aggressive, and the margins are razor thin, so every position has to be earned. On any given Saturday, any one of these kids is capable of finding victory lane and deserve it. With the field running nose to tail all night, one lap you’re cheering, the next you’re white-knuckling the fence, and before you know it you’re wondering, “WTF just happened?”

Can’t end this post without thanking the great group of people we have in our corner who make weekends like this possible. We appreciate every sponsor, family member, and friend who believes in these boys and shows up week after week. We definitely don’t take it for granted. 🏁

A few pics from the last few weeks. The start of the season has already had its share of ups and downs…but we will reset and get back to what matters most—family, friends, learning, growing, and having fun. 🏁

Special Thanks 🏁

It’s been chaos over here lately with the boys involved in approximately 47 activities at once, but Friday we had an opening and decided to race the season opener at Bohmer’s.

Nasher came out ready and absolutely handled business, winning both heats and the feature. Kid was locked in all night and looked FAST.

Knox though? Whew. Racing said “Not Today Sir” 🫠

We somehow grenaded the gear on the grid…still don’t know how that’s even possible considering he barely moved. Then in the second heat he literally got ran over which tore up the body and popped the chain. Pretty sure that impact also knocked something out of alignment because by feature time the chain would not stay on….so think he maybe got two laps under his belt all night.

He was pretty frustrated but if you race long enough, eventually you have those nights where you spend more time fixing stuff than actually racing.

Then because apparently we don’t believe in rest around here, Saturday we headed right back to “the track”…just not OUR kind of track 😂

Knox decided to try out track and field this year and has actually done really well for his first year. He will actually be competing at sectionals this weekend in the medley, 4x200, 400, and 4x400.

Still not used to hearing:
“Let’s head to the track!”…without loading a trailer and smelling race fuel and tire prep!!!

Big thanks to all of the family and friends who showed up to cheer on the boys (we definitely had the largest and loudest cheering section) and then we would like to thank all of our sponsors…we couldn’t do this without your support!!!
